Falso Simulacro, real name Rodrigo Perez Moran, is an Argentinian DJ and producer based in Buenos Aires with a career spanning more than three decades. Active as a DJ since the mid-1980s, he has been active within Argentina’s club culture, while his deeper focus on electronic music began around twenty years ago as the underground scene evolved and diversified.
Throughout his career, Rodrigo has held residencies at numerous venues across Buenos Aires, alongside a formative period performing in Uruguay during the early 1990s. In parallel, he has appeared as a guest DJ at events across Argentina, building a reputation for consistency, musical depth and an ability to adapt to changing dancefloor dynamics without losing his identity.
He began producing in 1993, when he worked as a production assistant at Top Records, an experience that laid the foundation for a long-running studio output. Since then, Falso Simulacro has released music across Progressive House, Deep House, Tech House and Techno, favouring groove-driven structures, subtle atmospheres and functional club energy while balancing rhythm and space in the manner found in his DJ sets rather than relying on excess.
At the time of publication, his studio work was in a particularly active phase, with new releases and collaborations appearing on underground labels aligned with progressive and deep electronic sounds. These productions showed a measured approach, focused on hypnotic movement, layered percussion and extended arrangements designed for club play and late-night floors.
Alongside production and DJing, Falso Simulacro has a strong presence in radio. At the time of publication, he performed regularly on international stations including Maxximixx Electra in Tel Aviv and LDN Radio in London, as well as Scientific Sound Asia, and his shows followed his club philosophy through selections prioritising flow and mood across extended sets.
Falso Simulacro’s first Scientific Sound Asia episode opens with Vertical Amigo’s Indigo on Cold Tear Records, bringing Peak Time Techno pressure into dialogue with Biodub’s Mangroove on Tiefenrausch Musik and its dub-oriented depth. The episode brought together decades of experience and his creative momentum at the time, offering a view of Falso Simulacro’s long relationship with underground electronic music.
Advanced Dreams’ Absent Presence on Biorecordings adds a firmer rhythmic focus before cv313’s Lost Sequence draws the set inward through dense, hypnotic layers and restrained tension. Anton Kubikov’s Unmoving on Mayak and S.A.M.’s L.F.O. in the S.I.M. Reshape extend the echo-rich, spacious character of Dub Techno.
Klartraum’s Bill Bill on Lucidflow raises the intensity, while Basicnoise’s Agravic Part I, Abdulla Rashim and Svreca’s Bondegatan on Semantica Records, and Aura Fresh’s Wormhole hold to a focused Techno foundation. Their measured percussion and repetition sustain the mix’s hypnotic character without sacrificing its dancefloor function.
Jichael Mackson’s You´n Me precedes Joachim Spieth’s Dark Matter in D. Diggler’s remix on A_Files, where raw, deep and hypnotic techno sharpens the set’s pressure. Enformig’s Evenings on Energostatic Records then returns to dub-weighted space and a more patient pace.
The Nautilus Project’s Arctic Islands in the Decoside Dub Addiction version leads into The Venusian’s Space Voyager on UPUK Records and Upwellings’ Remember Donau in its Original Mix on MOSHItaka. Ali Khan’s Inazuma closes with an Ambient resolution that eases the episode away from its rolling techno focus.
