DJ Joshua announces his track list for Velvety Elements 327

Velvety Elements 327 on Scientific Sound Asia welcomes back DJ Joshua for another edition of his long-running House Music show. Scientific Sound Asia operates as an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency and promoter, publishing music news while connecting underground artists and listeners across the region and internationally.

Based in Évora, Portugal, DJ Joshua has been involved with electronic music since the 1990s and developed his musical outlook through vinyl, cassettes, CDs and later digital formats. House Music has remained at the centre of that development even as his wider interests have moved through Techno, Drum and Bass, Chillout and other areas of electronic music.

That enduring connection with House shapes the identity of Velvety Elements, which concentrates on warmer, deeper and more soulful shades of the genre. Joshua favours smooth grooves, subtle movement and carefully paced selections rather than relying on immediate peak-time impact.

His involvement with Portugal's underground scene continued during quieter periods through event promotion, collaboration and support for other local artists. After stepping back from regular activity to concentrate on family life, his return through Floating Beats re-established his presence in radio and created space for deeper musical exploration.

Velvety Elements developed from that same creative direction while giving House Music a dedicated place within his broadcasting. Each episode is constructed around flow and continuity, allowing Deep House, Soulful House and related styles to develop naturally across the programme.

Joshua's recent studio output under the Joshua Marian name has reflected the same warmer side of his musical identity. Soul Zone and Love My Soul on Bassment Tapes, together with Tengo Rojo and Restless Lips on 659 Records, move through Deep House and Soulful House territory.

How to Play Guitar on JFLM Recordings takes his production work towards Melodic House and Techno while retaining the careful arrangement heard across his broader catalogue. Always on My Mind and I Can Go, You Can See on 14th Level Of Paradise extend the deeper side of his House production.

Joshua also uses the K Joshua alias for material that moves further into experimental and underground electronic territory. Promised Work on Kopoc, Stranger Things on dublucid and As You Are on Liberty Rhythm explore Hypnotic Techno, Dub Techno and Ambient influences alongside the more rhythm-focused work released under Joshua Marian.

These different aliases give him room to separate musical ideas without restricting his overall output to one sound. Joshua Marian carries much of the House-focused material, while K Joshua allows darker, more spacious and experimental electronic influences to develop independently.

In 2024, Joshua launched JFLM Recordings as an independent outlet for his own productions and collaborative work. The label provides a dedicated platform for long-term artistic development while giving him greater control over how new material is presented and released.

That studio activity feeds naturally back into his radio work, where new productions can sit alongside carefully selected records from other artists. Velvety Elements 327 continues that approach with another deep and groove-led House session built around subtle movement, warm textures and the understated musical character that defines the series.

DJ Joshua begins Velvety Elements 327 with D'Julz and Deebop, placing the set immediately within the rolling grooves and understated warmth of Deep House. Glenn Davis' "Reality Check" and J Swella's "Letting You Know" keep that early momentum intact, balancing supple rhythm with the kind of patient, club-focused movement that gives the opening stretch its depth.

Danny Parton's "Poelvoorde" and Okain's "Tribute" bring a clearer House Music emphasis into the middle of the programme, loosening the atmosphere without sacrificing its measured pace. DJ Sneak then returns the mix to a deeper groove with "What You Expecting From Me", setting up Hardrive:2000's "Work This, Like This" and its Conga Vibe Mix as a lively piece of Dance Music heritage from Strictly Rhythm Records.

Josh Butler's "Living Easy" continues the warmer house direction before Jay Tripwire introduces a tighter rhythmic edge with "Wall Punchr", shifting briefly into Tech House territory. The transition adds extra drive to the latter part of the set while remaining consistent with Joshua's preference for grooves that develop gradually rather than relying on abrupt changes in intensity.

Cinthie's remix of Lulah Francs' "Diversion Ends" restores a fuller house feel as the programme approaches its final stages, combining punchy movement with the deeper character established earlier. Sambo closes with "How Do You Feel" on Cecille, rounding off a set that moves naturally between deep house, classic house sensibilities and more tightly wound contemporary club rhythms.

Tune in to his live radio show on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m. Indochina Time. If you miss it, you can listen to a replay on Friday from 6 to 8 a.m. ICT.
