House music pioneer and Grammy Award-winning producer David Morales returns with new Afro House release SABALALA, collaborating with Italian-born, New York City-based vocalist Georgia Cee on a rhythm-driven and soulful new project arriving via DIRIDIM on June 5th, 2026.

Built around deep percussion, hypnotic vocal hooks and warm low-end grooves, SABALALA blends contemporary Afro House energy with the rich dancefloor heritage that has defined Morales’ decades-long contribution to underground club culture. Across four separate versions, the release moves through tribal rhythms, emotive melodic passages and stripped-back late-night grooves while maintaining a strong focus on movement and atmosphere.

The DIRIDIM Mix pushes furthest into immersive Afro House territory through layered percussion and rolling rhythmic patterns, while the Demo Mix strips the production back towards a more raw and direct interpretation. The Reprise Mix introduces a softer and more melodic atmosphere before the package closes with the hypnotic and chant-led energy of the Chant Mix.

While the release embraces contemporary Afro House aesthetics, the project is deeply connected to New York’s underground dance music lineage. David Morales remains one of House music’s defining figures, with roots stretching through legendary club institutions including Paradise Garage, Red Zone and Club USA before later forming Def Mix Productions alongside Frankie Knuckles and Judy Weinstein.

Across decades of productions and remixes, Morales has worked with artists including Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, Madonna, Whitney Houston and Jamiroquai, while remaining deeply active in underground club culture through his DIRIDIM label and long-running Sunday Mass events in New York.

Georgia Cee brings a contrasting but complementary energy to the collaboration. Raised around underground nightlife through the clubs her father owned in Italy before relocating to New York City, her sound combines Afro House, soulful songwriting and underground club influences shaped through connections to artists and movements surrounding Timmy Regisford’s Shelter legacy, Jellybean Benitez and the wider global Afro House scene.

Releases across labels including Strictly Rhythm, Nervous Records and Tribe Records have helped establish her as an emerging voice within contemporary soulful and Afro-rooted electronic music.

The collaboration also reflects Georgia Cee’s growing creative relationship with Morales and the DIRIDIM imprint ahead of the launch of her own independent label project, AFRONALITY, which focuses on Afro-rooted and soul-driven electronic music without stylistic borders.

Across SABALALA, both artists balance soulful musicality with deep rhythmic movement, creating a release that feels equally connected to underground dancefloors, global Afro House culture and New York’s longstanding club heritage.
