Bicycle Corporation is the Italian duo formed by Marco Mei and Stefano Ugliano, better known as 6884. Together they have built a catalogue of more than sixty original productions and remixes spanning House, Deep House, Tech House, French House, melodic electronic music and Techno.
Marco began his career in Turin during the early 1990s as a DJ and producer before becoming involved with the Urban People collective. Through that project, he developed his experience as a promoter and organiser while presenting House and Techno events across Italy.
His growing reputation eventually led to a residency with Pacha in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. That experience strengthened his international profile and opened the way for bookings across Europe, Asia and other parts of the global club circuit.
Marco’s wider musical background was shaped not only by House and Techno but also by Afrocentric rhythms, Disco, Funk and other electronic influences gathered through years of record collecting. Those broader interests remain particularly relevant to Roots, where Bicycle Corporation explore the music behind their current productions and DJ work.
Stefano grew up in Turin and showed strong musical ability from an early age, studying classical piano, percussion and drums. His wider interests included Chopin and West African djembe, giving him a broad melodic and rhythmic foundation before electronic music became his main focus.
As a teenager, Stefano became increasingly fascinated by DJ culture and by electronic records that were still difficult to hear on mainstream Italian radio during the 1990s. That curiosity eventually led him towards production and the technical side of creating the sounds that had captured his attention.
When Stefano met Marco, the pair discovered a shared understanding of electronic music and began working together as Bicycle Corporation. Marco’s experience behind the decks and Stefano’s musical and production background gave the project a flexible foundation for exploring deeper, melodic and more driving club material.
Their work has since appeared across numerous international labels while the pair have maintained a steady output of original productions and remixes. Bicycle Corporation’s broad musical outlook also allows them to move beyond contemporary club music and revisit the records, influences and older styles that shaped both artists.

This week’s guest is DJ Brendon P, whose real name is Brendon Perera, a Singaporean DJ and producer with more than four decades of experience behind the decks. His understated, low-profile approach has become part of a career built around careful selection, musical depth and an unusually broad understanding of club culture.
Brendon began DJing in 1980 on Singapore’s mobile DJ circuit before moving into clubs the following year. His early involvement quickly developed into a lifelong relationship with dance music, record collecting and the changing sounds that shaped successive generations of club culture.
A visit to New York in 1984 became a particularly important moment in his development. Spending time at the Funhouse, Paradise Garage, Danceteria and Area introduced him directly to the city’s club environment and to music that would become central to the development of House.
That influence remained with him as his own musical outlook broadened over the following decades. His selections now move through House, Techno, Disco, Nu Disco, Funk, Soul, Lounge and Electronica, with material from different periods sitting naturally alongside one another.

During the 1980s, Brendon worked across the club circuit with the Juliana’s and Bacchus groups before later holding residencies at Neo Pharaohs, Venom and NOX. He subsequently spent nine years as a resident at Zouk Singapore, one of the most significant periods of his career.
Further residencies followed at Kyo and CÉ LA VI Rooftop Club & SkyBar at Marina Bay Sands. These long-term positions allowed him to continue refining his approach while becoming one of the more experienced figures within Singapore’s club community.
His international appearances have taken him to cities including Geneva, Gothenburg, Melbourne, London, New York, Miami, Taipei, Hanoi and Hong Kong. In June 2010, he also performed at the former Cielo Club in New York, reconnecting his career with the city that had influenced him so strongly in the early 1980s.
Alongside DJing, Brendon has developed a substantial catalogue as a producer and remixer. His Beatport profile documents releases through labels including In The Woods, Los Grandes, Reversoulmusic, Audio Parallax, Hotbox Music, Soul Shift, Defected, Rawjak and One With Music.
