After Hours 750 is hosted by Hypnotised and guest DJ Massimo Conecto

After Hours 750 on Scientific Sound Asia sees Hypnotised return for another edition of the long-running series with guest DJ Massimo Conecto. Scientific Sound Asia operates as an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency, promoter and music news platform, connecting underground artists and listeners across the region and internationally.

Hypnotised is a DJ, producer and label manager from Ghent, Belgium, whose work is centred on atmosphere, gradual progression and layered melodic development. His connection with underground electronic music was shaped by events including I Love Techno and 10 Days of Techno, which formed part of the environment around his early development as a DJ.

Over time, his musical direction became increasingly focused on deeper and more melodic club music. Extended transitions, controlled shifts in energy and carefully structured selections give individual tracks room to develop while maintaining continuity across longer sessions.

After Hours, co-hosted with PatriZe, has become one of the principal outlets for that approach. The programme gives both DJs space to develop extended selections while introducing guest artists from across the international underground scene.

Hypnotised and PatriZe also present AH Digital Essentials on Proton Radio, where they showcase music connected with the label and its wider artist network. Hypnotised additionally hosts Energetic on Progressive Beats Radio, providing another outlet for new and established producers.

Radio remains closely connected with his wider activity as a selector, producer and label manager. Each programme gives him room to explore new music while retaining the patient pacing and melodic detail that characterise his DJ work.

As co-founder and label manager of AH Digital, Hypnotised has helped develop an imprint centred on deeper underground electronic music. The label provides a platform for established producers and newer artists while maintaining a clear connection with Progressive House and related melodic styles.

His own studio work follows many of the same principles found in his DJ sets. Melody and rhythm are given equal importance within the arrangement, allowing tension and detail to develop without losing forward momentum.

Recent work includes his collaboration with PatriZe on a remix of Nikoow’s Weird Things for AH Digital. The release continues the musical relationship the pair have developed through production, radio and their shared work around the label.

Hypnotised has also reworked Blissing for SINCITY and collaborated with Frank Savio on a remix of Tabrissel’s The Master of Time and Thoughts for COMET Records. His recent catalogue also includes Between The Echoes on Vandit Alternative and his remix of Ricardo Piedra’s Bungalow for Bonzai Progressive.

Across these projects, his focus remains on careful arrangement, restrained tension and gradual development. The same balance carries into After Hours, where his opening hour is structured to unfold steadily rather than depend on abrupt peaks.

Belgian DJ Massimo Conecto, also known as Dirk Stommels, performing behind DJ decks with his arms raised, wearing a green tropical-print shirt and headphones around his neck under warm stage lighting.

Guest DJ Massimo Conecto.

This edition’s guest DJ is Massimo Conecto, real name Dirk Stommels, a Belgian DJ who has performed consistently since 1999. His musical background reaches much further back, drawing on decades of exposure to Jazz, New Beat, House and a wide range of other styles.

Music entered Dirk’s life at an early age through his grandfather, a Jazz musician who performed with Belgian harmonica player Toots Thielemans. Growing up around Jazz alongside Rock, Punk, Disco, Funk, Hip Hop, electronic music and New Wave gave him a broad foundation long before he began performing professionally.

By the end of the 1980s, Dirk was involved with radio alongside Sven Van Hees and Paul Ward through the programme Liaisons Dangereuses. The show regularly featured New Beat during an important period in Belgian underground dance music, placing him close to sounds that would help lead into the country’s developing House culture.

His move into DJing happened more informally when he was asked whether he had CDs available to provide music for an event. That first experience behind CDJs eventually led him to Ken Bleys, who helped develop his technical skills on Pioneer equipment and also played a part in creating the Massimo Conecto name.

As his experience grew, Massimo began performing at private events in Belgium and internationally. His appearances have included Karma Lodge parties at Planet Xancara in South Africa, Kae Funk in Zanzibar, an after-party connected with Cirque du Soleil and further appearances linked with Defected Croatia.

His work in Belgium has included Café d’Anvers and the Floorfiller Festival, while later international activity also took him back to Zanzibar. He has additionally worked as a resident DJ and organiser with Journey of Love, combining his role behind the decks with the development of events and shared musical experiences.

Although his background crosses many genres, Massimo’s current direction places greater emphasis on Melodic Techno and Progressive House. That shift represents another stage in a career built around musical curiosity rather than remaining tied permanently to one style.

He has also expressed an interest in moving further into music production, although DJing remains the clearest foundation of his work. His approach continues to centre on selection, atmosphere and bringing the right people together through music.

Massimo Conecto’s appearance on After Hours 750 therefore brings both a long historical connection with Belgian electronic music and a more contemporary Progressive and Melodic Techno focus. His second-hour set reflects a career shaped by Jazz, New Beat, House, international club culture and more than two decades of regular DJing.

Hypnotised opens After Hours 750 with Mariano Favre's Reborn, setting a deep and controlled Progressive House direction from the outset. Jorge Medz follows with First Horizon before Gux Jimenez and Kurt Caesar, then Full.K, continue the early section with patient development and steady melodic tension.

Gorkiz PM's remix of Joaquin Salmain's Resolve keeps the hour flowing into Sound Fusion's Vortex, maintaining the same long-form progressive character. Hobin Rude's remix of Simon Neviani then brings a firmer rhythmic edge before RuKha and Mario Puccio guide the latter part of the mix towards a more expansive finish.

Samuel (LK) closes Hypnotised's section with Gravity Wells, completing a first hour devoted entirely to Progressive House. The set stays focused throughout, balancing deeper atmospheric passages with stronger club momentum while preserving a smooth sense of progression.

Massimo Conecto begins the second hour with Mike Griego and David A Diaz's Clarity, before Digital Mess and Akos Györfy with SHERRNX establish a tightly woven run through Protagonist Recordings material. Lowki's remix of Modus Novum keeps that pressure in place, while EANP's Mindset introduces another deep and measured passage through A Line In The Sand.

Noise Generation and Agustin Gatti continue the flow with Rataya before Guy J's No Drama gives the middle of the hour a particularly spacious and refined progressive character. Claudio Cornejo then follows with Lumen, while Michael A's Eternal Fade brings the set back towards the darker side of the genre.

Daysafterpablo's Rollercoaster leads into Scippo and Polo's Viceversa (Tomorrow Never Comes) to close the programme, completing another uninterrupted Progressive House sequence. Across After Hours 750, Hypnotised and Massimo Conecto keep both hours firmly centred on the genre, with the first built around gradual melodic development and the second shaped by deeper, more modern progressive selections.

Please set a reminder for the live house music radio show scheduled for Monday, October 19th, 2026, from 10:00 PM to midnight Indochina Time (ICT). If you're unable to listen live, the replay will be accessible on Friday from 10:00 AM to noon (ICT).
