Bicycle Corporation welcome guest DJ Obadius for Foundations 11 on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia is an Asian electronic music radio station, promoter, DJ agency and music-news platform connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.
Bicycle Corporation is the Italian duo of DJ and producer Marco MEI and Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884. In the early 1990s, Marco began his work as a DJ and producer and organised events across Italy with the Urban People crew.
That work earned Marco recognition and a residency at Pacha, leading to international DJ bookings and a musical career that took him around the world. Born and raised in Torino, Italy, Stefano showed a strong aptitude for music from childhood.
He studied classical piano, percussion and drums with dedication, drawing on Chopin alongside West African djembe traditions. The growing appeal of DJs commanding a crowd became increasingly important to him as a teenager.
Stefano wondered whether the electronic beats that were difficult to hear on 1990s Italian radio might open a new chapter in his life, and Bicycle Corporation later emerged from that interest. The pair have revisited their earliest tracks and established a Bandcamp page to distribute them.

This week's guest DJ is Obadius, Obadius is a synonym for melodicity. Hailing from Tehran, Iran and currently residing in Kuala Lumpur, he has been steadily building a name for himself.
His music journey started at the age of 17, forming his taste and music principles. Since it all started back in 2008, a year that marked his move to Kuala Lumpur; a city which he now calls home, Obadius has performed at the top venues across the region such as Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam (EPIZODE Festival) and more.
He is always delivering his deep, hypnotic groove and taking a path of versatility and consistency in his style. Since 2016 he's been the resident DJ of the infamous SWEATBOX parties organized by Art Xtreme Media and he's become one of the most in-demand DJs in Malaysia, sharing the decks with artists such as Sammy Dee, Wareika, Pan-Pot, David Gtronic, Gerd Janson, Zendid, ANOTR, Subb-an, Clive Henry, Eddie Richards, Maher Daniel, Davide Squillace, Dan Andrei, Kenny Glasgow, Dennis Cruz, Sabb, Nic Fanciulli, Chus & Ceballos, Djuma Soundsystem, Rick Maia and many more.
The influences in his music are from artists who are remarkable through the complexity and depth of their sound, crafty producers, not necessarily known for their name but for the incredible skills they have behind the decks or in the studio. With house and micro-house close to his heart, Obadius has established his sound and has a promising allure to his music.
Whether it's a short set or a few hours of fun behind the decks, his decade long journey has carved a path exciting to follow. His tunes picks are alluring, sensible, gracefully delivered and we can seldom recognise them. There is an air of unique flavour to his sets and very rarely do you hear the same record in another DJ's bag.
Bicycle Corporation's Foundations 11 with Obadius opens with 100hz's Whisper (String Mix) on Bosconi Records, establishing a Deep House tone before Huerta's C & T on Leizure brings in Deep Tech House. Dubtil's II on Arpiar follows with a Minimal approach, while Baby Ford's Serpentine Tale on PAL SL returns to the deeper house focus.
Sun Archive's Squeak Jam on Pathway Traxx sustains the minimal thread, and Chris Stussy's Riva de Biasio on Kaoz Theory restores the deep-house feel. Youandewan's Scissor Juice on Butter Side Up Records introduces the distinctive Butter Side Up style before Oden & Fatzo's Casinomania on Salty Nuts sharpens the deep tech house rhythm.
Laidlaw and Le Louche's Ah Ha on beeyou and Ilyes' San Giovanni 90S on Tombola bring Deep House and Premiere Recordeep selections into the middle of the programme.
