Blaze DJ is a British DJ and producer from Walthamstow in London, UK, with a background in underground music culture and DJing. The 10,000-hour rule suggests that expertise in a field typically takes 10,000 hours of practice, although Blaze DJ describes that commitment more as an apprenticeship.
Extensive practice has given him an almost intuitive connection with music, turntables and audiences. His influences include jazz, funk, disco, New Romantics and 80s synth-pop, which he encountered while growing up.
His interest in music began when he discovered House Sounds of Chicago Volume 1 on cassette in 1987, setting the course for his musical work. He began DJing at 15, progressing from local pubs to larger venues and establishing a reputation in electronic music.
After a break from DJing, Blaze DJ returned with renewed enthusiasm, securing radio slots and taking an active part in the music community. His style brings traditional house music together with breaks, acid and techno.
Alongside DJing, he has worked to transform the electronic music retail industry and contributes to the sector as an Audio Visual designer and consultant. At the time of this publication, he was organising events and releasing music through various labels, returning his focus to the club scene.

Adam Vyt’s Storm on 13monkeys is followed by The Darrow Chem Syndicate’s Perfect Kombo & Hankook remix of You Don’t Know Yours on Nipponeer Records and Crashead’s Shafted on Amen Brother. Mount Rushmore’s Pegasus Club Mix of I’ve Got The Music on Moonshine Music brings in House Music, before Sekret Chadow’s The Roof Is On Fire on Distorsion Records sharpens the pace again.
Ra Iil’s Kodek’s Space remix of Stick ’em and Rasco’s Put The Breaks, both on Toast & Jam Recordings, carry the later section forward. Dub Malub’s Fucking Breakbeat on Lizplay Records and FX909’s Nu Skool Breakbeat mix of Retro 2 on Sandella Music extend that late-set pressure.
