DJ Joshua publishes track lists for next shows

DJ Joshua presents Floating Beats and Velvety Elements on Scientific Sound Asia in this two-part selection of electronic music. Scientific Sound Asia is an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency and promoter that also operates as a music-news platform, connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.

DJ Joshua, whose real name is Joshua Mar, is an electronic music selector based in Portugal with a substantial library spanning diverse styles. His collection shows a particular fondness for Techno and a detailed knowledge of electronic music.

His passion for electronic music blossomed in the early 1990s alongside the rise of Portugal’s rave scene. DJ Joshua soon shared that enthusiasm on local radio and organised events.

He recognised music’s ability to build community and became a leading figure in his local scene. After a period devoted to raising a family, he returned to music and launched Floating Beats, a weekly radio show that gained recognition internationally.

"Music is an art form," he reflects. "It’s the fusion of elements that can convey emotions and make the body move. This is a place where you hear sounds that can float and end up falling onto your body... Enjoy it.”

Both Floating Beats and Velvety Elements are available on Mixcloud, presenting DJ Joshua’s selections across contrasting energies and styles. The two programmes show his skill in bringing different rhythms and musical approaches into a coherent broadcast.

In the first hour, Floating Beats opens with Jholeyson’s Naturem on Miaw, establishing a Tech House foundation before Satoshi Tomiie and Tuccillo’s You Know on Holic Trax moves into Deep Tech House. Hanfry Martinez follows with Candelaria 6am on Dreams On Wax, keeping the opening focused on a deeper, percussive club sound.

Serge Devant’s Girl’s Laugh on Rebellion introduces Deep House, while Denney featuring Derrick Carter’s Mr Big Hat adds another early-house cut. Pepe Mateos’s Dennis Quin remix of DMT on Circus Recordings returns the hour to Tech House with a firmer rhythmic edge.

Tony Quattro’s My House in the Ghostea 39 Years Mix precedes Christian Burkhardt and Sascha Dive’s Per Hammar remix of Backward on Deeperfect. David Scuba and Lubelski’s Broke on Superfreq then sits alongside Neverdogs’ Just Out on Mindshake Records, holding the first hour in its deep-tech direction.

X-Press 2’s Plastikman remix of Rock 2 House on Skint Records brings a sharper late shift into Peak Time Techno. Ken Ishii closes Floating Beats with The Second Sun on Metrohm, giving the hour a direct and forceful finish.

In the second hour, Velvety Elements moves into a deeper and more complex mix, combining deeper House and Techno elements with percussive club rhythms. The programme includes artists such as Nnatn, De La Swing, Forteba and Ritz, each bringing an individual approach to these sounds.

Geoffroy Laventure’s Proudly Black on Piston Recordings opens Velvety Elements in Deep House territory before Cuba Libre’s Ballet Interlude changes the texture. B&S Concept’s Private Call, also on Piston Recordings, settles the early second hour into a measured house groove.

Arturo Murro’s Housenation on Air Music leads into De La Swing’s DeMarzo remix of A Summer History on Cecille. Mancini’s Furbished on hedZup records follows with another Deep Tech House cut, tightening the middle of the programme.

Forteba’s BDTom remix of Time on Time on Tronic Soundz and Ritz’s Do Somethin’ on Piston Recordings bring the set back to Deep House. Jay-J’s Nervous in the Jay-J Mix on Moulton Studios Recordings introduces Tribal House rhythmic emphasis before the final stretch.

Andrew Azara’s Arp City on Heavy House Society adds a final Deep Tech House turn, followed by Danny Tape’s Keep It Pumpin’ on ALWAYS MUSIC. Fred Everything ends Velvety Elements with Lesson In Humility on Variety Music, leaving the second hour in a warm Deep House register.
