Joshua publishes track list for new episodes

DJ Joshua presents Floating Beats and Velvety Elements on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia is an Asian electronic music radio station, promoter, DJ agency and music-news platform connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.

DJ Joshua, whose real name is Joshua Mar, hails from Évora, Portugal, and is a passionate fan of electronic music. He demonstrates that commitment through an extensive collection of vinyl records and digital tracks.

His DJ career is fuelled by his affection for electronic music genres such as Techno, House, Drum and Bass, and Chillout. In the 1990s, he was instrumental in Portugal's rave culture, despite resistance to rave music's unconventional style at the time.

He persisted in presenting music on community radio programmes and organising events, eventually gaining recognition locally and internationally. After a brief hiatus to focus on family matters, DJ Joshua returned to music by launching his radio shows.

Floating Beats showcases a range of electronic music styles, including tracks by Richie Hawtin, Delano Smith, Andy Kneale and Christian Smith. The programme offers an engaging mix of Techno and House music.

Velvety Elements explores the soulful side of Deep House in the second hour, with music by DJOKO, Henrik Villard, Sean McCabe and Tony Lionni. The show foregrounds the emotional depth and complexity of Deep House music.

DJ Joshua's performances are distinguished by considered selections and fluent transitions, showing his understanding of electronic music and its effect on listeners. His commitment to high-quality programming has earned him a devoted following.

At the time of publication, listeners could find DJ Joshua's latest electronic music releases on Mixcloud. The two programmes set the more forceful first-hour selections alongside the warmer second-hour material.

In the first hour, Floating Beats opens with L.L. Project's Work In Progress (Go To Work J. Mix) on Kaos Records Portugal before Delano Smith's Inspiration on Sushitech brings House Music into Tech House territory. Those early selections establish a firm club pulse without losing the programme's underground focus.

Joel Müll's Working Body on Parabel introduces Techno (Raw / Deep / Hypnotic), followed by Chris Carrier's Freshly Ground on Adult Only and its Deep House character. The contrast gives the opening stretch both pressure and space.

Montel's Jumpin on Montel Records returns to House Music before Dok & Martin's Come To Me on Unity Records raises the intensity with Peak Time Techno. The first hour then holds its focus on functional, late-night rhythms.

Wata Igarashi's Ray on Figure revisits Techno (Raw / Deep / Hypnotic), while DJ Hyperactive's Soul in the Mari Mattham and Ricardo Garduno remix on Illegal Alien Records brings in Techno. Steal Tapes closes the Floating Beats selection with No Love on Street Tracks, returning the hour to Tech House.

In the second hour, Velvety Elements starts with Platzdasch & Dix's En Plein Air in Henrik Villard's remix on Feedasoul Records, moving through Deep House textures. DJOKO's Ventura follows before Henrik Villard's Right Here on Nite Records draws the set back towards House Music.

Azymuth's Partido Novo in the Faze Action remix on Far Out Recordings adds a measured change of tone. Sean McCabe and Lem Springsteen's Connection, in Sean's Hook-Up Dub on Good Vibrations Music, keeps the second hour centred on House Music.

Tony Lionni's Harlem Hustle in the Mimid Rough remix on wewillalwaysbealovesong returns to Deep House. Alkalino's Dance To The Beat on Audaz extends that feel with a direct dancefloor emphasis.

Subjoi's Back Down on Lost Palms and Alex Maiz's Walk on Earth on House Salad Music carry Velvety Elements through its final Deep House passages. It closes with Killed Kassette & Lexx Groove's Ecstasy, Javi Lopez's Placement, and Childish Gambino's This Is America in the FERENCE remix.
