DJ Joshua, whose real name is Joshua Mar, hails from Évora, Portugal, and is a passionate fan of electronic music. His commitment to the genre is evident in his extensive collection of vinyl records and digital tracks, while his DJ career is rooted in an affection for electronic music genres including Techno, House, Drum and Bass and Chillout.
During the 1990s, DJ Joshua was active in Portugal's rave culture, despite resistance to rave music's unconventional style at the time. He kept presenting music on community radio programmes and organising events, gaining recognition locally and internationally.
After a brief hiatus to focus on family matters, DJ Joshua returned to music through his radio shows. Floating Beats presents a range of electronic styles, including tracks by Galestian, Satoshi Fumi and Serge Devant, with a mix of Techno and House music.
Velvety Elements explores the soulful side of Deep House in the second hour, featuring artists including Archie Hamilton, Sascha Dive and DJ Vibe. The programme focuses on the emotional depth and complexity associated with Deep House music.

In the first hour, Floating Beats opens with Galestian's Alles Klar in Ian O'Donovan's remix on Global Entry Recordings, bringing Melodic House and Techno into focus. Satoshi Fumi's Shizuku on BeatData Music and Jansons' Octave on Circus Recordings establish the programme's House Music foundation.
Serge Devant's It's Like That, remixed by Sebastien Leger for Flying Circus Recordings, adds an Organic House turn to the opening selections. Stephen Lopkin's Mugs Alley on MOS Recordings and Ian O'Donovan's Kirk Degiorgio remix of Ascension on Inflyte Records bring in Peak Time Techno.
Vermont's Mano Le Tough mix of Übersprung shifts Floating Beats towards Electronica. F.E.M. featuring Theobald Ringer follows with Delta 97 on Metrohm, returning the first hour to Peak Time Techno.
Loquace and Synkrone close Floating Beats with Yamen and Eda's remix of Smoke Too Much on Earlydub Records. Its Tech House approach provides a clear handover into the warmer second programme.
In the second hour, Velvety Elements begins with Archie Hamilton's The Universe on SUKHUMVIT, a Deep Tech House selection. Titan Road's Lotus on Piston Recordings follows in Tech House territory.
Dale Howard's extended mix of Deaf Ears on Armada Subjekt keeps the second hour direct and club-focused. Reelow's Hey Buddy on Valioso Recordings sustains that Tech House direction.
Sascha Dive's If Only Was True from Danse Club Records carries the same Tech House emphasis into the latter part of Velvety Elements. Boot Slap and Joseph Wolff then bring Get Lost on BEAT Music Fund back towards House Music.
Leon’s Natch and Dothen remix of The Night Is On on Play My Track Recordings restores the Tech House focus before DJ Vibe's Special on Discotexas adds House Music. Satoshi Fumi ends the programme with Stay With Me on Unknown Season, finishing Velvety Elements in Tech House territory.
