Hersiaz Hazi presents Spectacular episode 1 on Scientific Sound Asia, marking his first solo programme after Uncharted Frequency. Scientific Sound Asia is an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency, promoter and music-news platform connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.
Spectacular is a solo project by Hersiaz Hazi, whose real name is Hasi Shamalka Silva, a Sri Lankan-born artist from the capital city of Colombo. His interest in electronic music began during his teenage years, when he started exploring different genres.
His career began with experiments using Virtual DJ and FL Studio, initially working from his bedroom as many DJs do. As his interest in electronic music developed, he moved towards Progressive House, a style with a significant following in Sri Lanka.
He has built a profile within Colombo's underground community by performing at events across the island. The artist also presents a monthly podcast for Progressive Heaven in the United Kingdom.
Spectacular episode 1 opens with Luka Sambe's Tripswitch remix of Alive Is The Meaning on Meanwhile, establishing a Progressive House foundation. Mojulo follows with Trapped on lmmersed Records, bringing in the episode's melodic house and techno element.
After Burn's Nimbus Games on Buddhabrot Records returns to the progressive direction before Agustin Pietrocola's Fabri Lopez remix of Sauvage on One Of Kind. Analog Jungs' Mariner Domingo remix of Punila on 3rd Avenue keeps the sequence moving into the next section.
Antrim's Hoffnung on Clubsonica Recording introduces Organic House textures, followed by Ari Fernan's Lack Of Spirituality on Strangers Beats. Guhus then brings The Eternal Sunshine from Dreamers into the mix before Nahue Sintes' Amhain remix of Alpine on Massive Harmony Records.
Sapinenta's Discover My Self leads into Sebastian Sellares' Higher Ground on onedotsixtwo. Fabri Lopez's Pilot on Movement Records follows, giving the episode a further change of pace before its later progressive selections.
Evegrem's White Soul on One Of Kind and Julian Nates' Blue Train on Or Two Strangers deepen the middle stretch. DJ Paul (Ar) and NAHS then contribute Finding You on Balkan Connection, which is followed by Nicholas Van Orton's UAV Aliado on the same label.
The closing run brings Ziger's Kenan Savrun remix of Lunar Taste on Eat My Hat Music together with Carlos TK's Weird Sounding Dude remix of Hope on Transaction. Nach's Subandrio remix of Envision on If You Wait gives way to Ozgur Ozkan's Blackout on Golden Wings Music, ending the programme with its established progressive focus.
