Anonymous Z announces playlists for 13th show with guest Cocosova

Anonymous Z returns with guest DJ Cocosova for Not So Anonymous 13 on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia operates as an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency, promoter and music news platform, connecting underground artists and listeners across Asia and internationally.

Anonymous Z opens the first hour and has long been involved with underground electronic music in Saigon, Vietnam. His work in the city has included founding the Mad Circus Epic party series, while an earlier chapter of his career saw him establish Glassroom, Bahrain’s first underground DJ community.

Through those projects, he organised both sanctioned and unsanctioned parties and after-parties while bringing together DJs, artists and other figures from local underground scenes. His long-standing motto, “They tried to bury us, but they forgot we were seeds,” reflects the independent outlook that has remained central to his work.

He later became involved with the Banana Hustle crew, adding another influence to a musical direction that had already started to expand beyond Techno. His selections now include Afro, House, Disco, Funk, Indie Dance and selected Techno while retaining the heavier rhythmic character associated with his earlier sets.

That broader approach has taken him to venues and parties including Arcan, The Lighthouse, Broma and Vitamin D after-parties. Rather than remaining fixed to one style, he uses different genres according to the setting and the development of the dancefloor.

His sets are built around changes in rhythm, tension and intensity rather than a strictly linear progression. Heavy basslines, percussion and more melodic passages can appear within the same session as he shifts between deeper club music and more playful selections.

Not So Anonymous provides a regular platform for that wider musical outlook while also giving guest DJs space to bring their own perspective into the programme. The format places him in the opening hour before a guest takes control for the second.

Guest DJ (second hour) Cocosova.

This edition’s second-hour guest is Cocosova, a Russian DJ whose selections draw from a broad range of groove-led underground music. Her earlier residencies included Jagger Bar, Neft Lounge, Matur Lounge and Lulu Rest, alongside appearances at events such as the Pavlovka One Love Festival and the Shihan Dance Competition in Russia.

Her musical background is rooted in old-school Black music, with soul, groove and rhythm forming the foundation of her approach behind the decks. House, Disco, Funk and Tribal influences feature prominently in her sets, while darker and more unusual selections can also appear depending on the direction of the mix.

She was also a finalist in Russia’s DJ Battle, reflecting the technical side of a style built around careful selection and control of the dancefloor. Rather than remaining within one fixed genre, she connects different rhythmic styles through pacing, percussion and a strong emphasis on groove.

After relocating to Vietnam in 2019, she continued developing her presence within the regional underground scene while maintaining the musical identity established earlier in Russia. Her guest mix for Not So Anonymous 13 reflects that background through a warm, rhythmic and groove-focused selection shaped by House, Disco, Funk and tribal influences.

The host opens Not So Anonymous Episode 13 with Christian S's remix of Statue and Edward Francis' Scratching The Surface, setting an Electronica tone before Trinidadian Deep's Long Way Home settles the first hour into Deep House. Sorcerer's Softest Rebound in the North of the Island remix introduces a Balearic turn, while Alma Negra's Burkina Berlin returns the set to deeper club territory.

Longhair's As We Travel adds an Indie Dance shift before Jacques Renault's version of Lovers' Sweetest Thing bridges House and Deep House across two consecutive entries. Matthew Bandy keeps the groove warm and low-slung, while Tama Sumo's remix of Mary Boyoi and Yolanda Be Cool with D Cup bring the first hour back towards a more direct House Music finish.

Cocosova starts the second hour with Nicolo Simonelli and Oniwax on Mama Yeye, introducing Afro House before Kiko Navarro and DJ Fudge take the programme back into deeper territory with Babalu Aye. Pillowtalk and Gustavo Lobo then return to Afro rhythms through Kellerkind's remix, while Moscoman's treatment of Wolfram and Haddaway adds a more direct pulse.

Newman (I Love) brings Organic House into the middle of the hour with The Tale Of The Ouroboros, followed by Damian Lazarus and The Ancient Moons on Trouble At The Seance, which restores the deeper atmosphere. Butch and The Rejected then move the set into Tech House with two tighter, more percussive selections.

Supermax closes the episode with Smoove's remix of African Blood, bringing a clear Disco influence into the final minutes. Across Episode 13, the host and guest connect Deep House, House, Afro House, Electronica, Balearic, Organic House, Tech House and Disco in a varied two-hour programme that stays groove-led throughout.
