DJ Joshua presents the Floating Beats and Velvety Elements programmes on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia is an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency, promoter and music-news platform connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.
DJ Joshua, also known as Joshua Mar from Évora, Portugal, is a dedicated collector of electronic music. His collection spans vinyl records and digital tracks, and his interest in Techno, House, Drum and Bass, and Chillout has informed his work as a DJ.
During the 1990s, DJ Joshua contributed to Portugal’s rave scene when rave music met social resistance. He persisted through local radio programmes and events, gaining recognition in his local community and beyond.
After a short break to focus on family, DJ Joshua returned to music and launched his radio shows. Floating Beats brings together deeper electronic selections from artists including Brame & Hamo, Madben and Ian O'Donovan.
The programme offers an engaging mix of Techno and House music, while Velvety Elements concentrates on the warmer, soulful side of Deep House. Its selections include music by Life Line, Enzo Siragusa, Seb Zito and Hector Couto, emphasising the depth and complexity of the style.

Floating Beats opens with Brame & Hamo’s Limewire (Tuff City Kids Remix) on Brame & Hamo, bringing in Deep House from the outset. Madben’s Blooming (Brame & Hamo Remix) on Ellum follows with House Music.
The Dualz’s Always in Your Mind on Way Of House introduces Peak Time Techno, before Taho and Jules Wells’ Satellite on KMS Records (BEAT Music Fund) returns to house territory. Ian O'Donovan’s Omega Centauri (Madben Remix) on Electronical Reeds then brings in Techno.
Theobald Ringer’s Pedro in Tokyo on Metrohm sustains the peak-time intensity in the first hour. Madben’s Robots on Sous Music adds a more melodic strain of Melodic House and Techno.
Gary Beck’s Back Jabba on BEK Audio brings the Floating Beats selection back to firm techno pressure. Brutkho’s Bhekamba (F.E.M. Remix) on Redlight Music closes this section with Deep Tech House.
Velvety Elements begins with Life Line’s 2 Luvs (Instrulove Mix DJ Vibe Remix), setting a warmer tone for the second hour. Enzo Siragusa and Seb Zito’s What's Happening on Fuse London follows with a deep-house focus.
Ben Rau’s What is Love on INKAL and Devv’s What's So Different on MadTech keep the selection in deep-tech territory. Lee Curtiss and Steingold’s Talk on Visionquest then returns to the deeper house approach.
Danny Tenaglia’s Don't Turn Your Back (Mendo Remix) on Hot Creations introduces Tech House. Simon’s Free at Last on Dfm Music adds a concise Dance Music turn before the closing run.
Jesper Dahlback’s Nyhus Part 2 on International Sound Laboratory and The Southern’s Skank on Tronic move from tech house into peak-time techno.
