DJ Joshua’s Floating Beats 468 and Velvety Elements 040 radio shows appear on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia is an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency, promoter and music-news platform connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.
Joshua Mar's passion for electronic music began in his youth, shaping his DJing style and leading him to build a substantial collection of electronic music, including House, Drum and Bass, Chill-out and especially Techno. During the early nineties, as rave culture emerged in Portugal, Joshua was instrumental in promoting electronic music through his vinyl collection, local radio shows and performances at events.
After taking a hiatus to focus on fatherhood, Joshua returned to the music scene with renewed energy and launched his radio show ‘Floating Beats’, which, alongside ‘Velvety Elements’, is broadcast on multiple online stations globally. His vision for the shows is to combine musical elements into an atmosphere that moves and engages listeners.
Each week, DJ Joshua delves into diverse styles of House Music and Techno, including Deep House, Tech House, Melodic House, Detroit Techno, Soulful House, Progressive House, Vocal House, Melodic Techno and Techno. Floating Beats focuses on deeper, progressive and underground electronic music, while Velvety Elements takes a warmer, deeper and more soulful approach.
In Floating Beats 468, Recondite’s Serenity on Plangent Records opens with Melodic House and Techno textures before Damian Rausch’s Riverdance on House Cookin Records introduces Deep House. Okain’s Mauvaise Graine on Pleasure Zone then brings Deep Tech House into the opening run.
DJ QU’s Air’s Force on Strength Music Recordings and Gorge and Markus Homm’s Max Alzamora and Nuclius remix of Chaska on Orpheus Recordings hold the deeper line. Timo Maas’s Supercharger on Senso Sounds then shifts the selection towards Peak Time Techno.
Inigo Kennedy’s Black Light on Cocoon Recordings and The Advent’s G-Flame Dub Mix of Hybrid House on H-Productions extend the tougher techno passage. AND.ID’s Argy ‘Club Ready’ Mix of Apollo 20 on Gruuv brings in Tech House before Ian O’Donovan’s R.O.S.H. in Retrograde remix of Emerald on When We Dip Records returns to peak-time pressure.
Marco Bailey’s Marcel Fengler remix of Planet Mad on Materia keeps the techno intensity in place, while Booka Shade’s Nicole Moudaber Remix Edit of Plexus 3AM on Blaufield Music adds another tech-house turn. Truncate’s Burden Remix of Missing on Truncate introduces Breaks before the programme moves towards its second hour.
In Velvety Elements 040, Black Loops’ Ed Herbst remix of Cassette 5.1 on Neovinyl Recordings restores the deeper house feel. Thurman’s Artmann remix of Fhlosten Paradise on TBX Records follows with a deep-tech house groove that retains the underground focus.
Lauhaus and Mario Franca’s Marathon on Brise Records leads into Local Options’ Cloud City on Deepalma, keeping the second programme in a measured deep-house register. Mihai Popoviciu’s Cosinus on Poker Flat Recordings and Makito’s All The Way Back on Large Music deepen that mood.
Gunnter’s Maybe on Rutilance Recordings sustains the warm, understated direction before Marcelo Cura’s Whitenoise and Fragoso remix of Steelow on Fuse Records brings a sharper tech-house edge. The change gives the latter stretch a firmer club focus without losing the programme’s deeper character.
Deep Sensation’s Deep Vocal Mix of Better Love on Yoshitoshi Recordings closes the confirmed sequence with vocal-led deep house. It provides a fitting final contrast to the more insistent techno and breaks heard earlier across the two programmes.
