DJ Marco Mei presents his 2020 episode 40 playlist on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia is an Asian electronic music radio station, promoter and music-news platform connecting audiences across the region and internationally.
With almost three decades of experience at the time of publication, Marco Mei is an Italian DJ and producer. His early musical interests included Afrobeat, Reggae, Funk, Disco, early Hip Hop and the emerging electronic music scene.
In the early 1990s, he began his career as a DJ in Turin after developing those interests. His first performances took him to venues across Italy.
Marco developed his craft through regular appearances at clubs and festivals internationally. Those dates included sets alongside Roger Sanchez, David Morales, Ralph Falcon and Sander Kleinenberg.
During the early 2000s, he held a residency at Pacha Club in Sharm el-Sheikh. His subsequent international appearances included OBS in Saigon, Fuse in Brussels, CE' LA VI in Taipei, Shore Club in Hoi An, Bangaluu in Berlin, G-Star in Pattaya, Woobar in Bali and Global Dance Moscow.
In 2009, Marco formed Bicycle Corporation with Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884. The duo's studio work resulted in more than 50 tracks and remixes after the project was established.
Their productions found a receptive audience in the House Music scene and have been played by established artists. Marco relocated to Taipei in the early 2010s and performed regularly at clubs and venues across the city.
Based in Taipei, Marco works across a wider South East Asian network while presenting a weekly programme of Deep House, Tech House, Afro House, Melodic Techno, Nu-Disco, Indie Dance, Electronica and Techno. He is available for bookings through our DJ Agency.

Jessie Ware's Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs remix of Save A Kiss on EMI precedes Aaron Maple's Yebe Selbik Hu edit on Awesome Orientalists From Europa, which brings Disco into focus. Paranoid London's edit of Dunn 4 Money on Paranoid London introduces an ACID turn before Latour's Simply City rework of Blue on Hypeddit returns to Progressive House.
Space Motion's Make Me on Space Motion Records adds Melodic House and Techno to the late section. Steve Bug and Youandme featuring Black Soda then bring I Hear You on Rotary Cocktail Recordings back towards Deep House.
Zimmer's Lauer remix of Mouvement on Roche Musique provides an Electro House change of texture, before Bottin Rework's Got Headphones on Slow Motion Records introduces Italian Dance. Johnny Vicious Vs M.F.S.B close with T.S.O.P. on Network Records, finishing the programme with a House Music reference that links Marco's weekly broadcast to his Taipei base and regional work.
