Uncharted Frequency host Hersiaz Hazi presents the fifth edition of the programme on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia is an electronic music radio station, promoter and music-news platform connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.
Uncharted Frequency is a bi-weekly programme on Scientific Sound Asia, created collaboratively by Dhaka-based Shayekh Mohammad Arif, also known as Dr Moonstruck, and Colombo-based Hersiaz Hazi. The show provides a meeting point for experimental and underground sounds from around the world.
This edition is hosted by Hersiaz Hazi. His real name is Hasi Shamalka Silva, and he is a Sri Lankan-born artist from Colombo whose interest in electronic music began during his teenage years.
He began experimenting with Virtual DJ and FL Studio in his bedroom, as many DJs do at the start of their careers. As his interest developed, he moved towards progressive House and established a presence within Colombo's House Music community.
His Mixcloud profile accompanies his own episode, and he also plays a monthly broadcast on the Progressive Heaven radio show in the United Kingdom. The programme brings his selections to Scientific Sound Asia.
Uncharted Frequency 5 with Hersiaz Hazi opens with Cornucopia's Big Sky from microCastle, followed by Dio S's Athanasia on Sound Avenue. GMJ & Matter's Evolution then sits before Dougglas & Graynard's Yeneh from B4U Records.
Lautaro Fernandez's Through Rivers brings Dreamers into the selection, ahead of Augustin Sasson and Felipe Gonzalez's Uhuru. Rodrigo Lapena and Gonzalo Sacc follow with the Tekclix Remix of India on Massive Harmony Records, while DJ San and Sebastian Moore's Virga appears in the GMJ & Matter Remix.
Eric Lune's GMJ Remix of Embers returns to Sound Avenue, and Dimuth K and Shannon Davin's Fabri Lopez Remix of Horus arrives via Yang. Mariano Fuchilo's DJ Borra Remix of Format follows on Massive Harmony Records, keeping the programme's progressive house focus intact.
Weird Sounding Dude's Hibiscus on Balkan Connection leads into Stage Van H's Nicholas Van Orton Remix of Profound Bass from the same label. Lautaro Fernandez returns with Cloud Traveler on Dreamers, extending the label presence in the middle of the set.
Dylan Deck's Noiyse Project Remix of Sahodaraya arrives on Droid9 before Celene's Singing Garden on Eat My Hat Music. Guc Jimenez's El Fin on Clubsonica Records follows, carrying the selection into its final section.
Camelphat and Christoph's Breathe on Pryda Presents precedes Pedro Capelossi's Christopher Fafa Remix of Just Logical on Balkan Connection. Golan Zocher and Chopie's Kadishman on Beatfreak Recordings closes the programme with a final melodic selection.
