Secret Underground’s Scientific Sound Asia show, featuring guest DJ Black Jay and the playlist below, was announced for 29 August 2020. Scientific Sound Asia is an Asian electronic music radio station, promoter, DJ agency and music-news platform connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.
Secret Underground is a record label and event management company originating from Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka is a small island in the Indian Ocean with one of the region’s largest audiences for Progressive House and underground music.
The organisation’s initial vision was to unite people around the world through music. Founder Pasindu Dilhara began Secret Underground as a Facebook page for electronic music-related posts, which later became a Mixcloud podcast and record label supporting DJs in Sri Lanka.
The early Sri Lankan rave scene helped deepen local interest in electronic music. At the time of publication, the crew promoted secret underground events in Sri Lanka while running its podcast in collaboration with Scientific Sound Asia radio.
At the time, the Secret Underground crew planned to develop the brand internationally. The intention was to create connections between artists and music enthusiasts within the underground dance music community.

This week's guest is Sri Lankan DJ Black Jay, Black Jay is one of Sri Lanka's most exclusive DJs, and is known as one of the most entertaining DJs in the island country.
Black Jay started his career as a beach event DJ in the tourist industry and worked his way to the top in a relatively short period. His trademark is his very own groovy and energetic style of performance.
This not only leaves the crowd stunned but also forges them with a delightful experience. Whilst the world is in lockdown Black Jay has decided to devote as much of his inspirational energy to creating and highlighting his talents.
He performs regular radio shows, thus keeping his skills in practice and spreading his love of music worldwide. He hopes to return to work embellished with fervour and take his performances to another level, enjoy the show.
The playlist opens with Golan Zocher’s Sandman (Paul Kardos Remix) on Magnitude Recordings, establishing a Progressive House direction. Galestian’s L’Amour (Alex O’Rion Remix) on Manual Music introduces Melodic House and Techno alongside the opening selection.
Carlos Tk’s Hope (Weird Sounding Dude Remix) on Transensations Records follows with another Progressive House cut. Leo Perez and Dhany G’s Citrino (Andre Moret Remix) on Balkan Connection sits beside Platunoff’s Agraba (Lemon8 Remix) from Clinique Recordings.
Rafa’EL’s Bad Habits on Strange Town Recordings leads into Sebastian Sellares’ Room 09 on Or Two Strangers. Matter and Universal Harmonics’ Sankara (Alex Vidal Remix) on Mistique Music is followed by Nico Cerban’s Altered Senses (Nosh & SJ Remix) on Balkan Connection.
Dylan Deck’s Terminal Madness (Teklix Remix) on Droid9 Limited precedes a return to Leo Perez and Dhany G’s Citrino (Andre Moret Remix) on Balkan Connection. Niceshot’s Mystery Dancer on Auditen Music keeps the later section within the programme’s Progressive House focus.
Bynomic’s They Are Coming Back (Tenerfuse Remix) on Another Life Music gives way to SNYL’s Slowly Drifts Away (Mononoid Remix) on Beat Boutique. Dysco and Juan Ibanez’s Euphoric Seas on Soundteller Records is followed by Paul Deep’s Sekai, also from Beat Boutique.
Mlinar’s Exergon (Original Mix) on DistroKid carries the set towards its final selection. Zibe’s Old Mafia (Original Mix) on MyPrimus Records closes the playlist with Melodic House and Techno.
