Brazilian DJ Van Storck featured in her first guest show on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia is an Asian electronic music radio station, promoter and music-news platform connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.
Van Storck, whose real name is Vanessa Storck, is a DJ hailing from São Paulo, Brazil. She lives in São Paulo and performs numerous gigs, including performances across the city.
She has performed in all Brazilian states and at nightclubs across the country. Her venue appearances include D-EDGE in São Paulo, Green Valley in Camboriú and Anzu in Itu.
International touring has taken her to Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, Mexico, the United States and Portugal. Her sets move through the various genres of House Music and its contemporaries.
Van Storck has appeared as a headliner and shared the decks with Alesso, Paul Oakenfold, Sultan, Paul Harris, Tim Healey, Fragma, Skazi, Sesto Sento, Astrix, Sandra Collins, Miss Nine, Nervo and many more. Her sets are defined by versatility, taste, charm and technical control.
Since 2015, she has produced her own material, with her first track, Fate, released in August 2018. Her second track was a collaboration with Brazilian singer Claudia Albuquerque, released in May 2019.
In 2020, Van Storck set herself the target of releasing one track each month. By the time of publication, she had released 11 in total, and the show includes some of her own work.
The selection establishes its House Music footing with John Summit's Deep End on Defected, before Michael Gray's Low Steppa remix of The Weekend brings Disco character from High Fashion Music. CamelPhat and Cristoph's Breathe, featuring Jem Cooke, follows with Progressive House detail on Pryda Presents.
Frederick & Kusse and Fibi's Gimme That Funk, featuring Eric Redd, brings Tech House from Toolroom into the mix. Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano and YAX.X's PRAY, featuring SABRI, on SONO Music and Lee Foss and Martin Ikin's Gravity, featuring Hayley May, on Repopulate Mars sustain the house-focused pace.
Van Storck's own I Bet You Do arrives as a Dance Music release on VAN STORCK MUSIC. Chris Nasty's Rising Up on Ultra, Tube & Berger and Eskuche's La Familia on Toolroom, and Moreno Pezzolato's Trick Me on Glasgow Underground keep the club-focused momentum in place.
Her collaboration with Claudia Albuquerque, No More Nothing, appears on DJ Sound before Diplo and SIDEPIECE's MK Extended Remix of On My Mind introduces Bass House from Higher Ground. Giancarlo Zara's Qubiko Remix of Winter on Klaphouse Records then returns the programme to a house-led direction.
Van Storck's EMBODY it on Mixmania Records reintroduces Tech House before Dennis Ferrer's Riva Starr Paradise Garage Club Mix of Hey Hey brings Defected back into view. Meduza's Born To Love, featuring SHELLS, and R Plus and Dido's Huxley remix of My Boy extend the vocal-led late section.
The programme closes with Van Storck's Get Ready, released through VAN STORCK MUSIC. That final original mix gives her own catalogue the last word after a set shaped by house, club edits and her earlier 2020 material.
