Secret Underground announce playlist and guest DJ Gav Easby

Secret Underground’s fifth Scientific Sound Radio podcast featured guest DJ Gav Easby. Scientific Sound Asia is an Asian electronic music radio station, promoter, DJ agency and music-news platform connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.

Secret Underground is a record label and event collective originating from Sri Lanka. Although the island is small, it has one of South Asia’s strongest followings for progressive house and underground electronic music.

That passion formed the foundation of Secret Underground’s vision to unite people worldwide through the harmonies and emotional depth of electronic music. Founded by Pasindu Dilhara, Secret Underground began as a Facebook page dedicated to sharing electronic music.

As interest grew, the project developed into a Mixcloud podcast and later a record label supporting emerging Sri Lankan DJs and producers. Sri Lanka’s early rave culture played a vital role in shaping the country’s modern electronic scene.

Secret Underground honours that heritage through shows focused on underground music and a considered listening experience. The collective promotes secret events across Sri Lanka while running its podcast in collaboration with Scientific Sound Asia Radio.

The Secret Underground team aims to expand the brand internationally. Its mission is to create stronger connections between artists and music lovers, helping underground dance music reach a broader global stage.

This week’s guest DJ is Gav Easby. Born Gavin Easby in Durham, England, Gav’s musical journey began in 1999, armed only with a pair of headphones and a box of vinyl. Over the years, he played in numerous bars and clubs across the UK while learning his craft. In the early 2000s, he began producing music, but later stepped away for a period to focus on family life.

Now fully returned to the scene, Gav has re-emerged with renewed energy and commitment. He is today a label owner, producer, remixer and DJ, driven by a deep passion for the underground. His recent work includes new productions and collaborative releases under the name INU Musika, a duo formed with fellow producer and DJ Andy Woldman. Their tracks have already started to draw attention in the underground circuit.

Gav’s return signals not just a revival but a refreshed sound — one that honours his vinyl roots while embracing modern production techniques. His sets reflect this duality, combining old-school sensibilities with fresh, forward-looking club energy. As a guest DJ, he promises a journey that bridges nostalgia and innovation, guided by his decades of experience and current creative drive.

The Secret Underground 05 podcast with guest DJ Gav Easby opens with Sanchez & Pietkun’s Pasiones & Adicciones in Gav Easby’s remix on OLD SQL RECORDINGS, introducing Progressive House. Goda Brother’s Helping Hand, remixed by Andy Woldman for IN2U, follows alongside Edvard Hunger’s Only Believe Me, also on IN2U.

Audioglider’s Concatenate on INU and Galvano’s Free Your Soul on IN2U extend the opening run. Jonny Descalco’s Ohjaus and Juan Ibanez’s NAHS remix of The Eagle Departure, both released through IN2U, carry the sequence forward.

Teleport-X’s Trust Me on IN2U leads into Enertia-Sound’s Faces, also on IN2U. Albuquerque & Foletto’s Havana Dub receives an Enertia-Sound remix on INU, bringing a different texture to the middle of the selection.

Franco Tejedor’s ID on IN2U and Ricardo Piedra’s ID in Nikko Mavridis’s remix on INU keep the programme moving through its unidentified material. Nikko Mavridis’s Senseless, remixed by Weird Sounding Dude for INU, follows with Ewan Rill’s Ian Dillon remix of Friends Forever on the same label.

Sascha Trimpe’s Teklix remix of We Will Run feat. JustMeli returns to IN2U before rAin’s ID on INU introduces a Wave touch. Don Longton’s Gav Easby remix of Here to Stay appears as an edit on 3xa Music, followed by Chrys Lyons’s ID on INU.

The final stretch brings Sergio Avila’s Wicked Waves on INU Musika together with Enertia-Sound’s Gav Easby remix of Deliverance on IN2U. It closes with TSOS Feat. Nontu X’s Umlilo in Klement Bonelli Tinnit’s remix for Seledor.
