Rumesh presents Petrichor 81 on Scientific Sound Asia, with guest DJ duo Mitrinique and a playlist led by Progressive House and related electronic styles. Scientific Sound Asia is an Asian electronic music radio station, promoter and music-news platform connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.

Rumesh Peiris, known as Rumesh, is a Sri Lankan DJ and the host of the Petrichor podcast series. His affinity for Progressive House developed alongside Sri Lanka's underground music evolution, and he established Petrichor as an internationally heard radio podcast series featuring international talent each week.

This weeks guest DJs are duo Mitrinique, with their fusion of Progressive, Deep and Tech house they have captured the audience in nightspots everywhere. The founders of the duo are Dominique Heyninck and Dimitri Chantzis who through their own pursuits are already internationally acclaimed acts.

The duo achieved global recognition through their first track ‘Saturday’ in 2010 which was hailed by international heavyweights across the scene. They have achieved a good reception through their productions and refinement of their music.

With the launch of their own record label Sound Avenue they have scored a plethora of praise through their releases by artists such as Chris Fortier, Nikko Z, Liz Cirelli, Lonya, Audiojunkies, Petar Dundov, and many more. Their perseverance and attention to detail has gained support by renowned artists such as Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Dave Seaman, Sasha, John Digweed, Sven Vath, Armin Van Buuren, Laurent Garnier, Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J, Cid Inc, Karotte, and many others.

In mid 2012 a new sublabel 'Crossfade Sounds' was launched. This label focused on deeper underground music with a twist. With releases from A-list producers and up and coming producers with a surprising sound and insight it has ripened fruit.

Unwilling to compromise the duo have established a monthly residency at Tinto Basement where they host their Sound Avenue label night with great music being the emphasis of their metamorphism. The duo embrace the long & extended set format, allowing them to fuse a greater diversity of house music genres.

The duo has performed internationally throughout Belgium, Holland, Germany, Austria, and even further. The feedback on their releases has been unmeasurable and the duo hope to continue their journey. The underground scene has only glimpsed their outlook and should expect more in the coming years.

The set opens in Indie Dance with Adana Twins and Ridoutt's D.J.A.M.H. on TAU, followed by BOg's Mathias Schober remix of Jahar, also on TAU. Carlo Whale and VOZA's D-Formation & GRAZZE remix of Million Faces on Einmusika Recordings then introduces Melodic House and Techno.

D-Formation's YAIDE remix of Nerve on MIR MUSIC moves into Progressive House. Cubicolor's Adam Port Extended Mix of No Dancers on Anjunadeep returns to melodic house and techno before Dave Seaman's Press 1 For Human on Selador restores the progressive focus.

DJ Hell's Meriton remix of Wild At Art on The DJ Hell Experience brings Indie Dance back into view, while 8Kays' Circuit on Blaufield Music adds another melodic house and techno passage. Damon Jee and DEMIAN follow with Ignisa on Critical Monday, and Game's Somewhere on Last Night On Earth provides the programme's soundtrack entry.

Innellea's White Blanket on Afterlife Records returns the selection to Indie Dance before Bicep's Atlas on Ninja Tune brings in Electronica. Echonomist closes with The Touch on TAU, ending the playlist in the same Indie Dance territory that frames its opening records.
