His weekly broadcasts cover Deep House, Tech House, Melodic House, Detroit House, Soulful House, Progressive House, Vocal House, Melodic Techno and Techno. The podcasts are available internationally and have aired on House music and Techno radio stations.
Together, Floating Beats and Velvety Elements place energetic electronic material alongside the more soulful side of House music. The two programmes give Joshua space for both firm rhythms and gentler melodies within his weekly output.
In the first hour, Floating Beats 429 opens with Stephen Lopkin’s Mugs Alley on MOS Recordings, establishing a Peak Time Techno start. Jon Hester follows with Ripple Effects on JH Archives, moving into Techno (Raw / Deep / Hypnotic) territory.
Ian O'Donovan’s Orient Express on Stripped Recordings restores the Peak Time Techno pressure with a direct rhythmic line. Antwon Faulkner’s extended mix of Resurgence on KMS Records (BEAT Music Fund) holds that pace in place.
Marc Marzenit’s Warehouse Mix of 9909LA on Tronic brings a warehouse-focused edge to the first programme. Samuel L Session’s Dumbek on SYXT follows before Keith Carnal’s Sword Play on Arts returns to the rawer, deeper Techno feel.
Vince Watson’s Funk Dvoid reshape of A Very Different World provides a further late first-hour change of texture. Satoshi Fumi closes this section with Ian O'Donovan’s remix of The Messenger on Unknown Season, introducing Deep House before the second programme begins.
In the second hour, Velvety Elements 02 begins with Taho and Jules Wells’ Live Tek Jazz on KMS Records (BEAT Music Fund), giving the programme a House Music foundation. Terry Lee Brown Junior’s Gabriel Sordo remix of Here We Go on Plastic City then settles into Deep House.
Chris Stussy’s Edge of The Mirror on Rutilance Recordings keeps the second hour deep and measured. Franck Roger’s Ruffcut, also on Rutilance Recordings, extends that approach with a more stripped rhythmic focus.
Lauhaus and Mario Franca bring How Long from King Street Sounds into the later House-led section. Strobelight Shadow’s 2012 on Tsuba introduces Tech House and gives the sequence a firmer club edge.
Harrison BDP’s Small Talk on Delve Deeper Recordings returns the mix to Deep House, followed by Ian Pooley’s Good Things on Kwench Records. The Mekanism and Arno finish with In My Way on Too Many Rules, ending Velvety Elements with a House Music resolution.
