Tam Yeung presents Tam Yeung's Show 01 on Scientific Sound Asia, first broadcast as a new weekly programme on 5 May 2020. Scientific Sound Asia is an Asian electronic music radio station, promoter, DJ agency and music-news platform connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.
Tam Yeung, whose real name is Tim Young, is a DJ from Essex in the United Kingdom who lives in Da Nang, Vietnam. His musical influences include Techno, experimental and electronic sounds, metal, jazz, folk, disco, funk and other genres.
Tam began DJing in 2004 at the semi-legendary, moderately infamous monthly CLUB CLOR events at the Brixton Windmill. The parties featured bands and DJs, earned a fearsome reputation for people letting their hair down, and saw Tam play tracks that broke from the norm.
Since then, he has played in several countries through a mixture of talent and fortitude, including squat parties in Berlin, beach bars in Malaysia, Thailand and Malta, underground venues in Poland, techno clubs in Moscow and breweries in London. He has also been part of DJ crews and residencies in Aberdeen and London, playing anything from hard disco to soft industrial.
At the time of publication, Tam's plans to play psychedelic sounds for open-minded ravers in Da Nang had been interrupted by the pandemic. He instead brought his crate-digging selections to the airwaves in Asia through Scientific Sound Asia Radio.

Cam Deas returns the programme to Ambient territory with Collapse on The Death Of Rave, while D.K.'s Going Into Trance on Good Morning Tapes keeps the focus Electronic. Beatrice Dillon's Abstract Workaround 8 on Late Night Tales gives way to Deena Abdelwahed's Bass / Club track Lila Fi Tounes on InFine.
DJ Diaki's African selection But Show DD 1 Mix on Nyege Nyege Tapes precedes Moses Boyd's Jazz piece Only You on Exodus Records. Horse Lords bring Alternative music through Against Gravity on RVNG INTL., before Teeth Of The Sea's Rock track Visitor arrives on Rocket Recordings.
Aleksi Perälä's UKMH51900045 on Trip Recordings moves into Techno (Raw / Deep / Hypnotic), followed by Pantha Du Prince's Dance Music selection Plus In Tacet on Modern Recordings. Galcher Lustwerk then returns to Deep House with Fathomless Irie, released by Ghostly International.
Rrose's Peak Time Techno cut Waterfall, issued by EAUX, gives the closing stretch a focused final push. Laurie Spiegel's Classical work The Expanding Universe on Unseen Worlds brings the programme to a spacious conclusion.
