DJ Andrew M presents episode 08 of his all-vinyl Disco show on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia is an Asian electronic music radio station, promoter, DJ agency and music-news platform connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.
At the time of publication, Andrew had returned to Singapore after a run of private international events, performing at parties across the USA, Canada, the UK, the Netherlands, India, the UAE, Australia and South Africa. When not travelling, he spends his time digging for records and playing specialist vinyl sets, drawing on a collection with deep musical heritage.
His diversity as a DJ is grounded in a long history with funk and hip hop, alongside knowledge of music built over several decades. His collection spans digital and vinyl formats, allowing him to move fluently between genres while keeping his sets rooted in rhythm, groove and character.
For more than a decade, he has performed at notable Singapore clubs, bars and events including Tanjong Beach Club, Kult, CAD, Artemis, Kilo, Loof, Zouk, BluJaz, Tippling Club, Choice Cuts and Great Escape. He has also made regional appearances in Indonesia and Thailand.
Andrew began in Australia, where he hosted influential hip hop radio shows throughout the 80s and 90s and held several club residencies. Over the years, he has stayed involved in every part of DJ culture: private events that keep his crowd sensibilities sharp, bar and club sets that support his versatility, vinyl gatherings that reconnect him with the fun of pure selection, and radio, his original passion.
Episode 08 focuses on Disco in all its forms, from overlooked gems to timeless classics. Andrew favours the 12-inch single, allowing each record to play in its full extended version and give listeners a deeper experience of the music.

The Untouchables follow with Freak In The Street on Smokin', before Chocolate's It's That East Street Beat on Streetwave brings the selection back towards the dance floor.
Secret Weapon's Must Be The Music arrives on Prelude Records, followed by D-Train's You're The One For Me on the same label. Crown Heights Affair then supplies Dancin' from De-Lite Records, extending the set's late-70s and early-80s club focus.
Starguard's Wear It Out on Elektra leads into Grey & Hanks' Dancin' on RCA Victor. Norma Jean's Saturday on Bearsville follows with an R&B-informed vocal touch that suits the programme's weekend atmosphere.
Phil Hurtt's Boogie City (Rock And Boogie Down) on Fantasy brings the sequence towards its final stretch. Le Pamplemousse closes with Monkey See, Monkey Do on AVI Records, ending the all-vinyl set with another extended disco-era record.
