Marco Mei presents 2019 Podcast 29 on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia is an Asian electronic music radio station, promoter and music-news platform connecting audiences across the region and internationally.
Marco is an Italian DJ and producer with more than two decades of experience, whose early listening included the emergence of Afrobeat and electronic music. He began DJing in the early 1990s and developed his craft in clubs and at festivals around the world.
His appearances have included shared bills with Roger Sanchez, David Morales, Ralph Falcon, Sander Kleinenberg, Harry Choo Choo Romero, Justin Berkmann and Funk D’Void. These bookings placed him alongside established figures from House and electronic music.

His club appearances included Arcan in Saigon, Fuse in Brussels, Room 18 in Taipei, Shore Club in Hoi An, Bangaluu in Berlin, G-Star in Pattaya, SOS Supper Club in Bali and NLO in Minsk.
In 2009, Marco formed Bicycle Corporation with Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884. The duo has released more than fifty tracks and remixes across deep house, tech house, French house and techno, receiving plays from DJs including Sneak, Mauro Picotto, Dubfire, Axwell, Danny Tenaglia and Above & Beyond.
Based in Taipei, Marco is part of a wider South East Asian network of artists, with Ciao Taipei recognised locally in 2013. He broadcasts a weekly programme on Scientific Sound Asia and is available for bookings through the DJ agency.
His weekly selections include Deep House, Tech House, Afro House, Melodic Techno, Nu-Disco, Indie Dance, Electronica and Techno. This 2019 edition moves through house-centred club material, with tracks from Braunbeck, Soulphiction, DJ T., Emmanuel Jal, Cinthie, Cassy and Nina Kraviz.
Marco Mei’s 2019 Podcast 29 episode opens with Braunbeck’s De Trum on Watergate Records, introducing an Afro House edge. Soulphiction follows with the HiPhife Mix of Beehive on Local Talk, bringing in House Music.
DJ T.’s Ready To Shine on Get Physical Music establishes the first Indie Dance passage. Heavy Hearted’s Gerd Janson in the 3 AM Remix and Róisín Murphy’s Narcissus in the At the Disco Mix lead into TERR’s Energy Sync on Phantasy Sound.
Emmanuel Jal and Nyaruach’s Solardo Remix of Ti Chuong on MoBlack Records returns to Afro House. Chiqito’s Rock The Disco on Brock Wild and Cloonee’s Hot on La Pera Records then tighten the rhythm through Tech House.
Cinthie’s Together on We Play and Cassy’s The One on Kwench Records return the programme to House Music. Darius Syrossian’s Bull Stomp on MOXY MUZIK follows before Tears for Fears’ Shout Feat. David Christopher & Martin Sola appears in the Magdalena Remix.
Goom Gum’s It’s A Lot on Columbia/B1 Recordings brings a Nu-Disco turn to the later section. Gruuve’s Falling Down on NOPRESET Records restores Tech House before Ida Engberg and David West’s Magdalena Remix of Abataka introduces Deep House on More Music And Media.
SouveQ’s Marvin & Guy Edit of Csucsok on Secret Fusion brings Indie Dance back into the sequence. Tour Maubourg’s Amicalement Vôtre on Happiness Therapy and Nina Kraviz’s I’m Gonna Get You on Rekids close the programme in Deep House territory.
