Gerard, also known as Tim Jones from DeviceRATT, presents episode 10 of The Hit List on Scientific Sound Asia. The platform operates as an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency, promoter and music news platform serving audiences across Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and the wider region.
DJ Gerard is a producer and DJ from Angeles City in the United States whose work centres on electronic music. His production and DJ activity has focused particularly on House music and related club styles.
Gerard previously spent time based in China, where he became an artist represented by Scientific Sound Asia’s DJ agency. His international background has connected him with different electronic music communities across Asia and beyond.
He was also involved with Brasbeat, a digital platform dedicated to electronic music in Latin America. Through the platform, Gerard hosted a podcast and mix show, sharing his selections with listeners and extending his presence within the wider electronic music community.
The Hit List gives Gerard a regular outlet for the music he is playing, producing and supporting. Episode 10 continues that format with a selection centred on his House-focused approach and broader electronic influences.
Gerard opens The Hit List Episode 10 with Frank Duke’s “Chasing Shadows” in Draso’s remix before Hajime Hidani and Beeswax settle the programme into a deep and understated groove. Maxi Degrassi with Erdi Irmak and Danito & Athina then bring Deep House and melodic detail into the early part of the set.
Roberto Surace’s “Joys” gives the programme a more direct house pulse before Mariano Mellino’s “Marxaclox” in the Guhus remix pulls the selection towards Progressive House. Mike Jaguar and Format Groove follow with reduced rhythms and dubby touches, keeping the middle section measured rather than pushing for an abrupt peak.
Nesh appears twice across “Collide” and “Eko,” with Kivu and Kama separating the two tracks as the set moves through deeper and more melodic club music. Deeplastik, 8120 and Circle Of Life continue that gradual progression, giving Melodic House and Techno increasing weight as the show develops.
Ian Cahill with Madcimiliano lead into Markus Homm’s “Lost,” adding a more stripped-back Deep Tech House feel to the closing portion. DJOKO, Mirko Worz and Red Meat Therapy then finish the set with compact grooves that keep the emphasis on rhythm, space and subtle changes rather than bigger crossover moments.
Across Episode 10, Gerard works mainly through deep house, progressive house and melodic material, with deep-tech and tech-house elements becoming more noticeable towards the end. The result is one of the more restrained Hit List selections, built around gradual shifts between related house styles rather than sharp changes of direction.
