DJ Gerard, also known as Tim Jones from DeviceRATT, presents The Hit List 09 on Scientific Sound Asia, with guest DJ Jose Norat, and the episode was first broadcast on Tuesday, 15 October. Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Jose Norat has drawn on several influences that led him to use music as a means of social change. Growing up in different parts of the United States, he has consistently treated music as a way to make an impact.
His tastes range from El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico to the international sounds of U2 and Green Day. Deep bass, positive energy and cutting-edge rhythms have nevertheless remained central to his priorities.
Sasha & Digweed, DJ Dan, Donald Glaude and Deadmau5 are among the artists who have shaped Jose's musical tastes. Their electronic influences inform his search for a sound that can hold personal meaning.
At the time of publication, Jose lived in Miami and drew creative energy from its electronic music scene. He considers music to be his life and describes electronic music through positive emotions and the urge to dance.
Jose emphasises the importance of feeling good through music. That outlook has taken him to venues across South Florida and to featured appearances on established internet radio programmes.
Jose sees opportunities to develop personally and artistically in the future. Working as DeviceRATT, Tim Jones and Jose Norat aim to build a presence in Miami's music industry and beyond.

Plus Beat'Z's Maravilha on KLUBINHO adds another Tech House step before DJ Kone and Marc Palacios deliver Pick Me Up on HouseU Tunes. Earth n Days' Tobago on HouseU and Crazibiza's Coco Loco X Mix on Pornostar Comps keep the middle of the hour lively.
Gary Caos supplies Shake Shake Shake on Casa Rossa before Adri Block and Scotty Boy turn to Disco House with Keep the Dance Floor Goin' on PornoStar Records. Gilbert Le Funk's Get Down from La Musique Fantastique and Disco Ball'z's Midwest Trick on Dynamic Musik sustain the upbeat house direction.
The late selections include Delgado and Rich Martinez's Soul Saxuality, followed by M.I.T.'s Bounce Back. Chemical Disco closes the sequence with Stranger on One Stamp Records, returning the hour to Deep House.
