DJ Marco Mei, the veteran Italian DJ and producer behind Bicycle Corporation, returns with another edition of his long-running radio series on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia operates as an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency, promoter and music news platform, connecting underground artists and listeners across the region and internationally.
With more than three decades behind the decks, Marco has developed a broad musical approach shaped by House, Deep House, Tech House, Disco, Techno and Afro-influenced rhythms. His experience across clubs, radio and international touring has given him an adaptable style built around careful selection, groove and an understanding of the dancefloor.
Marco began his career in Turin during the early 1990s as Italy’s underground electronic music movement continued to develop. Through his involvement with the Urban People collective, he became closely connected with local events, club nights and the wider House and Techno culture surrounding the city.
That period gave him experience in both DJing and event organisation before his reputation expanded beyond Turin and across Italy. International opportunities followed, with a residency at Pacha in Sharm el-Sheikh becoming an important stage in the development of his career.
Further appearances took Marco to venues including Woo Bar in Bali, The Mansion in Shanghai, Fuse in Brussels and The Observatory in Ho Chi Minh City. These bookings exposed him to different club cultures and audiences while strengthening the versatility that remains central to his work.
In 2009, Marco formed Bicycle Corporation with fellow Italian producer Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884. Together, they have developed a catalogue of more than fifty original productions and remixes across Deep House, Tech House, French House, Techno and related electronic styles.
Their releases have appeared through labels including Alchemy, Miniatures, WL77, Suka and GrooveTraxx. The partnership combines Marco’s experience as a DJ and selector with Stefano’s background in classical piano, percussion, drums and studio production.
Marco later relocated to Taipei and has remained closely connected with electronic music activity across Asia. His position in the region brings together decades of European club experience with direct involvement in Asian nightlife and underground electronic music.
Through his Scientific Sound Asia radio series, Marco continues to present selections shaped by years of collecting, performing and producing music. Each edition gives him space to draw from different areas of House and Techno while maintaining the groove-led, club-focused approach that has defined his career.
Marco Mei opens Episode 39 with Cinthie's remix of Todd Terry Presents Sound Design's Devils Dance, beginning in Deep House before Sofia Kourtesis reshapes Lane 8 and Arctic Lake's The Choice into a warmer House Music groove. David Morales follows with his remix of Mia Moretti and Irma Thomas' Safe With Me, bringing a soulful vocal presence into the early stages before Lyric's Flip Dat and Hilit Kolet's remix of She Got Dis keep the rhythm firmly centred on the dancefloor.
Hifi Sean introduces the episode's Nu Disco element with Lovers (001) before Aretha returns the selection to House, leading into DJ Duke's Future Disco edit of Can You Feel It. Flight Facilities and BROODS continue with Forever In My Room, while Johannes Albert's Tremendous Thrill maintains the house-led progression before Unbalanced Love Portfolio shifts into Indie Dance.
Gerald Mitchell's Body Levitation restores the House pulse with a Detroit-rooted feel before Avision's Hot Key and Dino Lenny's Not About The Volume add greater pressure through the middle of the set. Brunello then changes the texture with the Indie Tech character of Lost In The Mellow Circus, providing a darker and more restrained transition before Emanuel Satie's Give It All brings the programme back towards a fuller house groove.
HIGHLITE's Beverly adds another Indie Dance passage before Nando's All The Time and CASSIMM's Over You re-establish the direct House foundation that dominates the episode. Chez Damier and Supernova continue that run with Can You Feel It, drawing on classic house sensibilities before KiNK's remix of Duck Sauce's Can't Stop delivers the sole Peak Time Techno surge of the session.
Phunkie Souls close Episode 39 with Tha Music (Floats Your Cares Away) on Classic Music Company, bringing the programme back to House after the sharper intensity of the preceding track. Across the set, Marco Mei keeps House firmly at the centre while weaving in Deep House, Nu Disco, Indie Dance, Indie Tech and a late Techno peak to create a varied but cohesive club-focused journey.
