Marco Mei has published the tracklist for his forthcoming weekly show on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia Radio broadcasts underground electronic music to listeners across Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, South Korea, Malaysia and the rest of Southeast Asia. The platform also operates as a DJ agency, events promoter and source of independent electronic music news.
Marco Mei is an Italian DJ and producer with more than two decades of experience. His musical foundations were shaped by growing up around the emergence of Afrobeat and electronic music.
He began DJing in the early 1990s before establishing himself at festivals, clubs and events around the world. During his career, he has shared the decks with Roger Sanchez, David Morales, Ralph Falcon, Sander Kleinenberg, Harry “Choo Choo” Romero, Justin Berkmann and Funk D’Void.
Marco later secured a residency at Pacha in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, which helped expand his international career. His subsequent appearances included Arcan in Saigon, Fuse in Brussels, Room 18 in Taipei, Shore Club in Hoi An, Bangaluu in Berlin, G-Star in Pattaya, SOS Supper Club in Bali and NLO in Minsk.
He formed Bicycle Corporation with Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884, and the pair went on to release more than fifty original tracks and remixes. Their catalogue has moved through Deep House, Tech House, French House and Techno while maintaining its underground focus.
Bicycle Corporation’s productions have received support from DJ Sneak, Mauro Picotto, Dubfire, Axwell, Danny Tenaglia and Above & Beyond. Marco later relocated to Taiwan, where he has continued developing his work as a DJ, producer and radio host.
His Ciao Taipei events became an important part of the local electronic music scene and helped connect him with a wider network of international artists. He subsequently joined the roster of DJs and producers broadcasting regularly on Scientific Sound Asia.
Marco’s weekly show draws from Deep House, Tech House, Afro House, Melodic Techno, Nu-Disco, Indie Dance, Electronica and Techno. Each episode reflects his long-standing interest in underground club music and his experience performing across different scenes and countries.
Marco Mei opens the selection with a varied run of House Music, bringing together tracks from Alan Dixon, Record Players, Alicia Myers, Etur Usheo and Denis Sulta. Joe Smooth’s “Promised Land” in its Gerd Janson remix also introduces an Afro House influence early in the episode.
The set moves further into Deep House through Alex Boman, Blaze and &ME featuring Palmer Brown, and St Germain. Remixes and edits from Noir, Studio Cross, In Flagranti and Earl Jeffers give this section a strong balance of classic vocals and contemporary club production.
A darker transition follows with DJ Deeon and DJ Haus representing Tech House, before Apparat, Raxon and The Organism lead the mix towards Melodic House and Techno. Reinier Zonneveld’s “Eating Concrete” then pushes the energy into Peak Time Techno, adding a harder edge to the later stages of the show.
Bart Skils’ remix of Push’s “Universal Nation” brings a clear Trance element before The Organism returns with the Indie Dance track “Roast.” Marco Mei closes with Miles Davis and Robert Glasper featuring Stevie Wonder, ending the episode with a blend of Jazz Music, soul and Nu Disco influences.
