Marco Mei presented 25 Years in Da House, Part 1, on Scientific Sound Asia in 2018, marking 25 years of DJing and production. Scientific Sound Asia operates as an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency, promoter and music-news platform, connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.
The programme looked back across records connected to Marco’s early years behind the decks and his later work as a producer. Rather than presenting a standard new-release show, 25 Years in Da House gave space to music linked with the foundations of his club identity.
Marco began DJing in Turin in 1991, during an important period for Italy’s underground House Music and Techno culture. His association with the Urban People collective placed him within a local network involved in DJing, promotion and event organisation.
Urban People became part of Turin’s developing electronic music scene during the 1990s. Through that activity, Marco gained experience in programming parties, reading dancefloors and working within the structures that supported independent club culture.
Those early years gave him a grounding in House Music and Techno before his career moved onto a wider international circuit. His selections have since drawn on that background while adapting to different clubs, cities and audiences.
A residency at Pacha in Sharm el-Sheikh marked a significant stage in Marco’s international development. The role expanded his profile beyond Italy and connected his sound with a broader audience in North Africa and the Middle East.
Further appearances followed at venues including Woo Bar in Bali, Fuse in Brussels and The Mansion in Shanghai. These bookings placed Marco before club audiences across Europe and Asia, strengthening the international context behind the 2018 anniversary programme.
His wider venue history has also included The Observatory in Ho Chi Minh City and other clubs across the region. That Southeast Asian activity became especially relevant after his relocation to Taipei, where he continued building regional links through clubs, events and radio.
In 2009, Marco formed Bicycle Corporation with Italian producer Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884. The collaboration brought Marco’s DJ background together with Stefano’s studio knowledge and musical training.
Bicycle Corporation has released more than fifty productions and remixes across Deep House, Tech House, French House and Techno. Their catalogue includes releases on Alchemy, Miniatures, WL77, Suka and GrooveTraxx, placing the project within a network of underground electronic labels.
25 Years in Da House, Part 1, connected Marco’s early club influences with the later production work developed through Bicycle Corporation. The show documented a long-running relationship with House Music, Techno and the dancefloor culture that shaped his career.
DJ Marco Mei presents 25 Years in Da House Part 1 on Scientific Sound Asia, with an archive selection rooted in House Music, Acid House, Deep House, Techno and Detroit Techno. The tracklist features music from Cultural Vibe, Adonis, Mike Dunn, Chip E, Frankie Knuckles, Tyree, Todd Terry, Rhythim Is Rhythim, Ralph Falcon, WestBam and Phortune.
L.U.P.O. opens with Hell Or Heaven, placing the episode inside Acid House before Cultural Vibe’s Ma Foom Bey moves into early House Music. Sensible House and R.S.H. then add Give A Little More and Bumrush The Dream, keeping the opening section tied to tribal and underground house rhythm.
Earth People’s Dance and 95 North’s Check It Out keep the programme in House Music before Adonis brings in No Way Back. Blunted Dummies then shift the mix into Deep House with House For All in S-Man's Deep In The Vibe Edit.
Jeanette Thomas’ Shake Your Body returns the set to House Music before QX-1 aka Mike Dunn adds Let's Work That Mutha F. Chip E and K-Joy follow with Like This, connecting the middle section to Chicago House foundations and early vocal club structure.
Jamie 3:26 and Cratebug bring Hit It N Quit It, followed by Network 109 with The Circus House. Parris Mitchell Project and Waxmaster then move the episode towards ghetto house with Ghetto Shout Out, adding a rougher Chicago street-level edge.
Paul Rutherford’s Get Real appears in the AID Promo Mix and Happy House Mix before Revoked adds Pieces in the Sound Factory Mix. The Vandals then bring Tonight's The Night, keeping the tracklist close to late-night house club culture.
Frankie Knuckles’ The Whistle Song gives the second half a classic House Music centre, followed by UBQ Project’s When I Fell N Love. Tyree then returns the set to acid-rooted material with House Music Is My Life.
X-Press 2’s London X-Press adds a Progressive House entry before Todd Terry’s Bounce To The Beat appears in the Leon remix. Rhythim Is Rhythim then brings in Detroit Techno with Strings Of Life, one of the tracklist’s most recognised electronic records.
Ralph Falcon’s Every Now And Then moves the closing section back into Deep House before Layo & Bushwacka! vs. KOT add Finally A Love Story. WestBam and Nena’s Oldschool Baby, Jellybean’s Twilight Dome Pt. 2 and Phortune’s String Free close Part 1 across Techno, House Music and acid-linked club history.
