After Hours 749 features PatriZe and guest DJ Aphra

After Hours 749 features PatriZe at the helm with guest DJ Aphra on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia operates as an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency, promoter and music news platform, connecting underground artists and listeners across the region and internationally.

PatriZe is a Belgian DJ, producer, radio host and label founder based in Thailand. His musical direction developed from early interests in Trance and Techno towards deeper, melodic and progressively structured electronic music.

His sets are built around long blends, gradual changes in energy and carefully layered arrangements. Rather than relying on abrupt transitions or isolated peak-time moments, he allows individual tracks room to develop while maintaining continuity across the wider mix.

An important milestone came in 2010 when PatriZe won the Night Museum DJ Competition in France. The result earned him an opening slot for Guy J and helped broaden his profile during a formative stage of his career.

His connection with Pole Folder also influenced his approach to pacing, structure and melodic detail. Those experiences helped shape the patient style that later became central to his DJ sets, production work and radio programming.

In 2015, PatriZe co-founded AH Digital with Hypnotised as an independent outlet for deeper underground electronic music. The label became closely connected with their production work, radio activity and wider international network of artists.

AH Digital has since developed into an important part of his work as a producer, curator and label head. The imprint provides a platform for established artists and newer producers while maintaining a strong emphasis on depth, atmosphere and musical progression.

Collaboration with Hypnotised remains a regular part of PatriZe's studio activity. Their productions and remixes share a measured approach in which rhythmic control, melodic detail and gradual development are given equal importance.

That partnership also sits at the centre of After Hours, where PatriZe and Hypnotised alternate hosting duties and introduce guest DJs from the international underground scene. The format gives each host room to develop an extended first-hour selection before the featured guest takes control of the second part of the programme.

PatriZe remains active within Thailand's electronic music community alongside his international broadcasting commitments. Performances around Pattaya and Jomtien keep him connected with local club audiences while his radio work reaches listeners well beyond Southeast Asia.

Radio remains particularly suited to his approach because it provides space for longer musical development and carefully controlled pacing. Through After Hours, PatriZe continues to build programmes around deep selections, gradual transitions and a strong sense of continuity.

After Hours 749 continues that format with Aphra joining the programme as the featured guest for the second hour. Her appearance adds another perspective to a series built

This edition of After Hours welcomes APHRA, a DJ and producer from southeastern Mexico whose work is centred on Progressive House. His productions combine atmospheric tension, melodic structure and a deeper approach to arrangement, balancing introspective ideas with the momentum required for the dancefloor.

APHRA has developed a substantial production catalogue through labels across several countries, including AH Digital, Balkan Connection, Superordinate Music, Another Life Music, Sublime Notion, Venture, Kodai, Big Bells and VSA Recordings. This international label activity has helped establish his work beyond Mexico while maintaining a strong connection with the deeper and more melodic side of Progressive House.

His 2026 catalogue has been particularly active, including Paradox on AH Digital, Awaking and Particles through VSA Recordings, and Andromeda on Superordinate Music. Oracle followed on AH Digital with additional interpretations from LEM (IT) and Cosmic Ocean, extending one of his principal releases of the year through contrasting remixes.

October 2026 brought Afterglow, a collaboration with Martin Nicoletti released through Iktan Musik. Other recent work includes Bastian on Euphyllia Records, Starliner with Mr. Tow and earlier productions including Rubicon, demonstrating the continuing development of his studio catalogue across Progressive House and Melodic House and Techno.

Alongside production and remixing, APHRA has developed his profile as a DJ through radio and performance platforms in Mexico and internationally. His sets have appeared through outlets including TM Radio, Los 40 Dance Barcelona, Ephimera Tulum and 103 Studio, providing another outlet for the atmospheric and progressively structured approach heard throughout his productions.

APHRA joins After Hours 749 with a catalogue closely connected to the musical direction of the programme, including several releases through AH Digital itself. His guest set brings the perspective of a prolific Mexican producer whose recent output continues to explore the deeper, melodic and atmospheric possibilities of Progressive House.

PatriZe opens After Hours 749 with Juan Deminicis' Attention, immediately establishing the deep, flowing Progressive House direction that defines the entire episode. David Podhel's Eclipse in Juan Buitrago's remix and Erkan Manyaslı's Light in the Sam Sick and Ovlak remix continue that patient build through layered melodies and controlled rhythmic tension.

ARJ and THMS follow with Resurface on AH Digital before Mariano Malvica's Last Trip receives a remix from Michael A, keeping the first hour rooted in long-form progression and subtle tonal development. Blake Toth and Kilowatt's Valhalla Sonique in the Praise BR remix then adds a broader, more expansive feel without breaking the underlying momentum.

Kris Dur's Protecta leads into Michael A's Eternal Fade, after which Noise Generation and Agustin Gatti contribute the consecutive We Love UG and Rataya on Protagonist Recordings. tinywander's Dono in the SHERRNX remix closes PatriZe's hour with another AH Digital selection, giving the first half a clear connection between established Progressive House labels and newer material.

DJ Aphra begins the second hour with Afetim's Element and RuKha's Destination, both on AH Digital, before Juan Arcucci's A Flower in the Desert continues the label-focused opening. Chelakhov's Embrace the Darkness in the Nose Bortolussi remix follows, keeping the guest set firmly within the deeper and more atmospheric side of Progressive House.

K-MI and DJ NEBULAS introduce Across Oceans before Iovino and Tom Pavicich's Seamless keeps the mix fluid and melodic, setting up Aphra's own unreleased ID. Lean Robotti's Concentrate and Agustin Pietrocola's Damage then increase the late-stage pressure while preserving the same Progressive House framework.

Aphra returns with her own Awaking on VSA Records before Bruno Parasole's Easter Egg closes the episode on Bar Melodia. Across all twenty-two selections, After Hours 749 remains entirely Progressive House, with PatriZe and Aphra using label changes, remixes and original productions to create variation without leaving the genre's deeper underground core.

Kindly schedule a reminder for the live house music radio broadcast set for Monday, October 12th, 2026, from 10:00 PM to midnight Indochina Time (ICT). If you're unable to tune in live, the replay will be available on Friday from 10:00 AM to noon (ICT).
