After Hours 743 features PatriZe at the helm with guest DJ SABSONIC on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia operates as an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency, promoter and music news platform, connecting underground artists and listeners across the region and internationally.
PatriZe is a Belgian DJ, producer and label founder based in Thailand whose musical direction developed from early Trance and Techno into the deeper and more melodic side of Progressive House. His sets favour extended structures, gradual changes in energy and layered arrangements rather than abrupt transitions or isolated peak-time moments.
That approach has made Progressive House the natural centre of his work as both a selector and producer. Longer blends and carefully paced sequencing allow individual tracks to develop while maintaining continuity across the wider set.
An important early milestone came in 2010 when PatriZe won the Night Museum DJ Competition in France. The result earned him an opening slot for Guy J and helped broaden his international profile during a formative stage of his career.
Further work alongside Pole Folder and Guy J contributed to the development of his technical approach and understanding of musical pacing. Those experiences helped shape the patient and melodic style that later became central to both his DJ sets and radio programming.
In 2015, PatriZe co-founded AH Digital with Hypnotised as an independent outlet focused on underground Progressive House and melodic electronic music. The label quickly became closely connected with their production work, radio activity and wider network of artists.
AH Digital has since developed into an important part of PatriZe’s work as a producer, curator and radio host. The imprint provides a platform for established artists and emerging producers while maintaining a consistent emphasis on deeper, melodic and atmospheric club music.
Collaboration with Hypnotised has remained a regular part of his studio activity. Their productions and remixes share a measured approach in which gradual movement, rhythmic control and melodic detail are given equal importance.
That partnership also sits at the centre of After Hours, where PatriZe and Hypnotised alternate hosting duties and introduce guest DJs from across the international Progressive House scene. The programme gives both artists room to explore extended selections while maintaining a consistent underground direction.
PatriZe remains active within Thailand’s electronic music circuit alongside his international broadcasting commitments. His appearances around Pattaya and Jomtien have kept him connected with club audiences while his radio work has continued to reach listeners well beyond Southeast Asia.
Radio has become an important outlet for his approach because it gives him space to explore Progressive House across longer formats. As co-host of After Hours, PatriZe has helped develop the programme around considered track selection, gradual transitions and deeper underground music.

This week’s guest on After Hours is SABSONIC, a DJ whose roots go back to the vinyl era of the 1990s. She began playing across Germany before stepping away from regular DJing in 2004 as family life and career responsibilities took priority.
Her return to music came through a particularly meaningful gift from her family, who gave her two turntables and encouraged her back towards the part of her life she had left behind. That moment reignited her connection with DJing and brought her back to vinyl with renewed energy, passion and purpose.
Music has always carried a deeply personal meaning for SABSONIC. After losing her father as a child, she found it difficult to express what she was feeling through words and instead turned to music as a way of processing emotion.
That relationship with music continues to shape the way she approaches DJing today. Rather than treating a set simply as a sequence of tracks, she uses music as a form of emotional communication and a way of creating a shared atmosphere with the people listening.
Progressive House and Organic House now sit at the centre of her musical direction. She is particularly drawn to material that develops gradually, allowing melody, rhythm and atmosphere to build without forcing the energy of a set too quickly.
SABSONIC does not plan her sets in advance, preferring to let each performance develop according to instinct, mood and the energy of the moment. This gives her mixes a spontaneous character, with one record naturally suggesting the direction of the next.
She describes producers as the painters behind the individual pieces of music, while her role as a DJ is to bring those different colours together. Each track becomes part of a larger composition, with transitions used to connect separate ideas into one continuous story.
That respect for the artists behind the music remains central to her approach. SABSONIC sees DJing as a collaborative relationship with the producers whose records allow her to communicate her own emotions through selection and sequencing.
Vinyl remains an important part of her identity despite her return to contemporary DJing. The physical connection with records, turntables and hands-on mixing continues to influence the way she listens to music and builds a set.
Production is also part of her future ambition, with the goal of eventually creating music carrying her own distinctive fingerprint. For now, her focus remains on refining her DJ work while continuing to explore the deeper and more emotional sides of Progressive and Organic House.

PatriZe opens the first hour of After Hours 743 with Diego R's "Uberfordert" on Proportion before Michael A's "Confusion" strengthens the deep, measured Progressive House direction. Lucho Bragagnolo's remix of Mike Suntower and RNDØM's treatment of DILE continue that patient development, using sustained melodic tension and controlled percussion to build the opening section.
RuKha's "Raft" on AH Digital leads into Rama's remix of Ivan Lozano and Brian Creao's "Snakes", keeping the hour firmly centred on gradual progression rather than abrupt changes. D-Mice and Atique appear twice around Callecat's remix of Gai Barone and Tiefstone's "Boundaries", before O-Band closes PatriZe's section with "Desolation" on AH Digital.
DJ Sabsonic begins the second hour with Manu Pavez's remix of Yamil Soggetti's "Intencion", followed by Nikola Jovanovic's treatment of Yohai Mor and Will Daley's "Overload". Gabbe's remix of TEO and SHERRNX leads into Lucas Ramos' "Waterfall" on Protagonist Recordings, completing two hours of Progressive House built around long transitions, melodic depth and steadily developing club pressure.
