After Hours 450 features Hypnotised at the helm, with guest DJ Pedro Mercado joining the programme on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia operates as an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency, promoter and music news platform serving listeners across the region and internationally.
Hypnotised is a Belgian DJ, producer and label head from Ghent whose musical background developed through the city’s electronic music culture. Early exposure to events such as I Love Techno and 10 Days of Techno helped shape his interest in underground club music and the deeper side of electronic production.
During the early stages of his career, he performed across clubs and events around Ghent while exploring a broad range of electronic styles. Over time, his direction became increasingly focused on deeper Progressive House, melodic material and Techno-influenced rhythms.
That approach has become central to the way Hypnotised constructs both club sets and radio programmes. Longer transitions, gradual changes in intensity and layered melodic structures allow his selections to develop without relying on abrupt shifts in energy.
Together with PatriZe, he co-hosts the long-running After Hours radio series. The programme has been broadcast through TM Radio in the United States, Cosmos Radio in Germany and Scientific Sound Asia Radio, connecting their Progressive House selections with listeners across several continents.
The pair also present AH Digital Essentials through Proton Radio, using the programme to highlight music connected with their label and wider artist network. Hypnotised additionally hosts his own monthly Energetic show on Progressive Beats Radio in Germany.
His radio activity has extended further through guest appearances on stations including Ibiza Global Radio, Frisky Radio, DI.FM, Golden Wings Music Radio, Insomnia FM, Groove City Radio, Fnoob Techno Radio, Urgent FM and Ibiza Soul-Radio. These broadcasts have helped maintain his international profile alongside his club and production work.
Hypnotised has performed alongside artists including Marco Bailey, Tom Hades, Purple Disco Machine, Jesse Rose and Nick Bril. His appearances have included Amsterdam Dance Event, Deep on Deck Festival in South Africa, Club NL in Amsterdam, Decadance in Ghent and Zanzibar in South Africa.
In 2015, he co-founded AH Digital with PatriZe and moved further into production. The label became an important outlet for Progressive House and related underground electronic music while also creating a platform for artists connected with the wider After Hours network.
His early releases gained attention on Beatport, with People from the Otherworld reaching number four on the Progressive House releases chart. The title track was later remixed by Rui Da Silva, adding another established name to the project.
Further chart success followed with Infinity, which reached number two in both the Progressive House and Trance release charts and number three in Techno. These results strengthened his profile as a producer while demonstrating the range of influences feeding into his studio work.
In 2016, Hypnotised introduced the Man on the Moon alias as another outlet for electronic material. The project included Sense on Bonzai, while his wider production activity also brought recognition through a Metapop remix competition and exposure through Belgian station Studio Brussel.
His catalogue has since included work through Bonzai Progressive, Green Martian, SLC-6 Music, Pro-B-Tech Music, Stellar Fountain, Vesta Records, Insomniafm and Abstract Space Records. AH Digital remains central to his activity as a producer, curator and radio host.
Guest DJ Pedro Mercado (second hour)
This week’s guest for the second hour is Pedro Mercado, a Belgian-based DJ, producer, label owner and radio host with a long-standing involvement in electronic music. His work spans several areas of underground club music, combining deeper emotional House with hypnotic Tech House, Melodic Techno and Progressive House.
That broad range has allowed Pedro to adapt his sets to different venues and audiences without losing a consistent musical identity. His approach balances melody, groove and atmosphere while leaving enough room for stronger club-focused material when the energy of the room demands it.
Pedro has performed extensively across Belgium and at venues elsewhere in Europe. Ibiza has also become an important part of his international activity, giving him regular opportunities to present his music within one of the world’s best-known electronic music environments.
His production catalogue has earned regular appearances in the Beatport Top 100, helping establish his name beyond his work as a DJ. Releases have appeared through labels including Proton, Dear Deer and Deeperfect, alongside other international imprints.
His productions have also attracted remixes from artists including Zoo Brazil, Rodriguez Jr. and Shadow Child. That support reflects the range within his studio work and the way his music can sit across deeper House, progressive and more melodic club territory.
Radio has remained another important part of Pedro’s career. He has presented programmes including Rotationz, Planet Ibiza and Up-To-Deep, with broadcasts appearing through stations such as Ibiza Global Radio.
These shows have given him another platform for presenting new music and developing longer-form selections outside the constraints of a conventional club set. Radio also complements his work as a producer and label curator by allowing him to introduce artists and tracks connected with the wider underground scene.
In 2017, Pedro co-founded Chrom Recordings with his friend Mike Chrom. The label was created as an outlet for Deep House, Tech House, Melodic Techno and Progressive House, bringing together established producers and emerging artists from different parts of the world.
Running Chrom Recordings has added another dimension to his role within electronic music by placing him on both sides of the release process. Alongside creating his own material, he has become involved in selecting, supporting and presenting music from other artists through the label.
Hypnotised opens After Hours 450 with Ethen Bass before Dmitry Molosh and Nöpi establish the deep, atmospheric Progressive House character of the first hour. Cid Inc.'s remix of Mike Griego and Nosh & SJ's treatment of Cris Rosales continue that patient progression, balancing melodic tension with a steady underground pulse.
Agustin Pietrocola's remix of Ulises Espindola and Adelphos' interpretation of Lila Rose maintain the deeper flow before Weird Sounding Dude adds another intricate progressive turn. CamelPhat, ARTBAT and Rhodes then raise the melodic intensity with "For A Feeling", followed by GMJ & Matter's remix of DJ San and Sebastian Moore to close the hour with a stronger Melodic House and Techno crossover.
Pedro Mercado begins the second hour with Nosssia, Kolleyio and Erich Von Kollar before Jiggler and Miyagi with Allies For Everyone shift the programme towards a broader melodic club sound. Aves Volare and Nato Medrado continue that direction, while Plaztik and the Pedro Mercado with Karada remix of Avar Garden and Henzach bring the set deeper into atmospheric progressive territory.
ROWA and Sanoi's "Coria" in the Out of Sorts remix adds another melodic variation before Avar Garden and Henzach return for the closing track in an OIBAF&WALLEN remix. Across both hours, After Hours 450 moves between deep Progressive House and melodic club music with a controlled build that keeps the programme cohesive from beginning to end.
