General Levy Live in Ho Chi Minh City: Jungle and DnB Special

This event took place at Úm Ba La, above Bardo Cocktails & Arts, 14 Đường Số 11, Thảo Điền, Quận 2, Ho Chi Minh City, from 9 PM on 6 April 2025 until 4 AM on 7 April 2025.

Scientific Sound Asia presented General Levy live in Ho Chi Minh City for a Jungle and Drum and Bass special. The event took place on the night before a public holiday, bringing UK sound system culture, bass music and local Drum and Bass support to Thảo Điền.

General Levy is a UK ragga, Jungle and sound system artist best known for his work on the Jungle anthem Incredible. Active since the late 1980s, he has built an international reputation through rapid lyrical flow, high-energy performances and a style that links Reggae, Dancehall, Jungle and Drum and Bass.

His performance in Ho Chi Minh City brought one of UK bass music’s recognisable voices to Vietnam. The event connected classic Jungle vocals with Scientific Sound Asia’s ongoing work around Drum and Bass, Jungle and sound system culture in the region.

Support came from DJ Psycho-UK, Throe, Skitty and Dobbo. The line-up brought together Scientific Sound Asia regulars, UK-rooted selectors and Vietnam-based Drum and Bass connections.

The night focused on raw bass, breaks, Jungle and Drum and Bass. It formed part of Scientific Sound Asia’s 2025 return to larger international bass music events in Ho Chi Minh City.
