This event took place at Úm Ba La, upstairs from Bardo Cocktails & Arts, 14 Đường Số 11, Thảo Điền, Quận 2, Ho Chi Minh City, from 9 PM on 1 June 2025 until 3 AM on 2 June 2025.

Scientific Sound Asia presented Buunshin live in Ho Chi Minh City for his Vietnam debut. The event brought the Dutch artist’s forward-thinking bass music sound to an intimate venue in Thảo Điền.

Buunshin, also known as Ferry Mellegers, is a Dutch electronic music producer associated with Drum and Bass, bass music and experimental club production. His official biography notes releases on labels including VISION, UKF, Mau5trap and Critical, alongside work connected with artists such as Apashe, What So Not, DROELOE, San Holo, Habstrakt, DJ Fresh, IMANU and NOISIA.

His music is known for technical detail, emotional intensity and a sound that moves across bass-driven electronic styles. The Ho Chi Minh City debut placed that sound within Scientific Sound Asia’s 2025 run of international Drum and Bass and bass music events.

Support came from DJ Psycho-UK, Skitty and Throe. The support line-up connected Scientific Sound Asia’s local bass music network with UK-rooted Drum and Bass influences.

The night focused on Drum and Bass, bass music and darker electronic sounds. It formed part of Scientific Sound Asia’s renewed post-pandemic event programme in Ho Chi Minh City.
