30 Years of V Recordings Vietnam with Bryan Gee, Paul T & Edward Oberon

This event took place at The Villa Project, 199C2 Nguyễn Văn Hưởng, Thảo Điền, Quận 2, Ho Chi Minh City 70000, from 9 PM on 26 April 2024 until 6 AM on 27 April 2024. The venue has since closed, but the original location has been kept for archive accuracy.

Scientific Sound Asia presented 30 Years of V Recordings Vietnam with Bryan Gee, Paul T & Edward Oberon. The event marked three decades of one of Drum and Bass music’s most respected labels with a Vietnam date at The Villa Project in Thảo Điền.

V Recordings was founded in 1993 by Bryan Gee and Jumpin Jack Frost. The label has played a major role in Drum and Bass history, releasing influential music across several generations of producers and DJs.

Its catalogue includes major names in the genre such as Roni Size, DJ Die, DJ Marky, Dillinja, Serum, Need For Mirrors and Krust. It has also supported later waves of artists including L-Side, Paul T & Edward Oberon, Alibi, Command Strange and many others.

The Vietnam event celebrated the label’s history and legacy with appearances from V Recordings founder Bryan Gee and Paul T & Edward Oberon. The night connected the roots of the label with its newer generation of artists, bringing the V sound to Ho Chi Minh City.

Support came from Skitty, DJ Psycho-UK and DJ Scibes. Together, the line-up connected UK Drum and Bass history, Vietnam’s local underground scene and Scientific Sound Asia’s long-running work with bass music in the region.
