El Brujo And The Wild Bunch episode 25 features A503X

El Brujo returns with El Brujo and The Wild Bunch episode 25, this time featuring guest DJ A503X on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia operates as an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency, promoter and music news platform serving listeners across the region and internationally.

El Brujo, whose real name is Robert Milanesi, is an Italian DJ and producer born in 1964 whose involvement with electronic music developed through Bologna’s underground scene. By the mid-1990s, he had become closely connected with the city’s rave culture and the developing House and Techno movements surrounding it.

His production career moved into official releases in 2008 with Warriors on the Milan-based Open Legs label. That release marked the beginning of a catalogue that would later move across several areas of underground electronic music while retaining the raw character associated with his early club background.

In 2010, El Brujo launched Jambalay Records, with the label’s opening event taking place at Club Geminis in Ibiza harbour. The imprint became an important outlet for his own productions as well as music from other artists connected with his wider network.

The label gained further attention in 2011 when Maya Jane Coles included Jambalay material in her February chart. Around the same period, El Brujo collaborated with Big Mojo on The Way to Mozambique, while his Nutty Fellas Are Go project expanded his work into a physical CD release.

His catalogue continued to develop through labels including Elektrax, Frame Workxx, LW Recordings, Subwoofer, Berlin After Dark, Music Is The Drug, Gobekli Tepe, Fortwin Records, Bunker, Mad Rhythm, SE7ENS and Physical Techno. These releases demonstrate a willingness to move across different electronic styles rather than remaining restricted to one narrow production formula.

In January 2019, Plastic Dreams on Frame Workxx reached number 33 on Beatport’s Hard Techno Top 100. The chart result gave another indication of the heavier side of El Brujo’s production work and added to a catalogue already built through years of independent label activity.

His music often draws on cosmic and science-fiction ideas, giving many of his productions a darker and more atmospheric identity. Even when moving between House, Techno and related electronic styles, his work retains a raw production character and a strong preference for unconventional detail.

Alongside his studio work, El Brujo uses El Brujo and The Wild Bunch as a platform for artists connected with his wider circle of producers and DJs. Each edition combines his own selections with a guest appearance, allowing the programme to move through different interpretations of House, Techno and underground electronic music.

Episode 25 continues that format with A503X joining the programme as this edition’s guest. El Brujo’s section draws from current promos, releases and music from artists around his network before handing the programme to another member of the wider Wild Bunch.

This month’s guest is A503X, whose real name is Alexandre Sales Miquel, a Spanish DJ, producer, musician and audio technician from Lleida. Born in the early 1980s, his musical background extends beyond electronic production through experience playing a variety of instruments.

His move towards DJing and production developed while studying at Microfusa in Barcelona between 2003 and 2004. The period gave him a stronger technical foundation in sound while allowing him to develop the production skills that would later become central to the A503X project.

A503X went on to perform throughout Spain’s underground club and festival circuit before extending his activity internationally. His appearances have also included radio broadcasts through stations such as Toa FM, Cuebase FM and Blitz Radio, giving his music an audience beyond the clubs where he performs.

Production has remained an equally important part of his career, with his releases moving across several areas of underground electronic music. His work can be explored through his Beatport profile, where his catalogue documents both original material and his continuing activity as a producer.

Alongside releases for other imprints, he established A503X Records as an independent outlet for his music and related projects. Running his own label has given him greater freedom to develop material across different electronic styles while maintaining direct control over how that music is presented.

His productions range from melodic electronic material into harder and more driving Techno. Peak-time energy, atmospheric detail and a willingness to move between different sides of the genre have allowed his catalogue to develop without being restricted to one particular sound.

Even during periods when club activity became more difficult, A503X remained highly productive in the studio and continued releasing new music. That sustained output helped keep both his individual project and record label active while live performance opportunities were reduced.

For his appearance on El Brujo and The Wild Bunch, A503X draws directly from that production activity. His guest section features music from across his recent catalogue, moving from more melodic material towards stronger peak-time Techno and reflecting the range he has developed as a DJ, producer and label owner.

El Brujo opens the first hour of The Wild Bunch Episode 25 with Alex Imparato's remix of Cassio Ware before Mauro Novani's Tribe Remix of Reinoud Van Toledo's "Desert Dance" introduces a warmer Afro House pulse. Gianni Piras and El Brujo with Pirate Lady keep the early section varied through melodic and House Music influences before the programme begins moving towards its tougher underground core.

Kev Willis and Kikaterremotodj mark the transition into a more direct Techno sequence, followed by El Brujo's collaborations with Kiril Melkonov and Makaja Gonzales as the rhythm becomes darker and more forceful. "Al Gibrah" and "Apocalypso" then close the first hour with El Brujo firmly back at the centre, drawing the set towards the rawer and more driving end of his production catalogue.

A503X takes complete control of the second hour with an uninterrupted selection of original productions, beginning with "Massive Love" and "Move Your Body Baby" before "Autocrylic", "Killers" and "Happy People" deepen the mechanical club pressure. "Titanium", "Destruction" and "Malevolant" continue through stripped rhythms and darker electronic textures, giving the guest hour a much more singular identity than the stylistically broader opening set.

"Secret Agency" and "Negative" lead into "Baby Forest" as A503X completes an hour devoted entirely to his own material, with raw and hypnotic techno remaining the strongest thread through the sequence. The contrast gives Episode 25 a clear two-part structure, moving from El Brujo's blend of house, Afro-influenced rhythm and techno into a guest session focused almost completely on underground machine-driven intensity.
