After Hours announces host Patrize and guest Navaa for 445

PatriZe hosts another edition of After Hours with Navaa on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia operates as an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency, promoter and music news platform connecting underground artists and listeners across the region and internationally.

PatriZe is a Belgian DJ, producer, radio host and label head currently based in Thailand. His musical background began with Trance and Techno before gradually developing towards the deeper, more melodic structures of Progressive House.

A significant point in his development came in 2010 through his connection with Pole Folder of Bedrock Records and Reworck. He later won the Night Museum DJ competition in France, which gave him the opportunity to open for Guy J and strengthened his position within the progressive scene.

PatriZe has since developed a style built around long blends, controlled progression and carefully layered melodies. Subtle Techno influences often sit underneath his selections, giving his sets additional weight without disrupting their deeper Progressive House direction.

Alongside club performances, radio has become an important part of his work. He hosts both After Hours and Foundations, using the programmes to present established artists, emerging producers and new underground Progressive House from around the world.

His broadcasting activity has also extended to guest appearances on international radio stations in Europe, the United States and elsewhere. These programmes provide another outlet for his commitment to supporting deeper electronic music and artists working outside the commercial mainstream.

In 2015, PatriZe co-founded AH Digital with long-time collaborator Hypnotised. The label was created as a platform for Progressive House and related underground electronic music while giving both artists a direct outlet for their own productions and a growing international roster.

Their early People from the Otherworld project reached number four on Beatport’s Progressive House releases chart and entered the top twenty of the Techno and Tech House release charts. The title track was later remixed by Rui Da Silva, bringing further international attention to the label.

AH Digital has since become central to PatriZe’s work as a producer, selector and curator. Through the label he continues to discover new music, support producers and release material connected with the deeper Progressive House scene.

Based in Thailand, PatriZe has also maintained a presence within the local underground community through performances around Pattaya and Jomtien. Venues including Beachspot and Thai Lounge & Terrace have provided regular settings for his deeper and more progressive club selections.

His production work continues alongside his radio and label activity, with releases appearing through AH Digital and other underground imprints. That combination of DJing, production, broadcasting and label management keeps him closely connected with both the music itself and the artists developing around it.

After Hours remains one of the main outlets for that activity, pairing PatriZe’s own selections with guest DJs from the international Progressive House community. Each edition gives him space to build patiently through deeper material before introducing another artist’s perspective in the second half of the programme.

Guest DJ Navaa.

This week’s guest for the second hour is Navaa, the stage name of Mozambican DJ and producer Celso Jonas. His sound draws from Organic House, Downtempo, Oriental Deep, AfroTech and Deep Tech, with ritual-inspired textures and organic percussion forming an important part of his musical identity.

He began developing his production work in 2017 and moved more seriously into the industry the following year. His first official release arrived in 2019 through Mozambican label Ritual Sonoris, marking the beginning of a catalogue that has continued to grow internationally.

His productions combine atmospheric detail with rhythm, often favouring hypnotic movement over direct peak-time impact. Organic instrumentation, deep percussion and spacious arrangements give his music a distinctive character while connecting it with wider Afro-electronic and progressive influences.

Since his debut, he has released music through labels including 7Armies Music, Just Move Records, Hoomidaas Records, RYNTH Music, Xibalo Records, AH Digital and The Purr. His Beatport catalogue reflects a developing body of work across Organic House, Afro House and related deeper electronic styles.

His tracks have also appeared on compilations including Nothing But... Organic House Selections, Vol. 15 and Nothing But... Afro House Selections, Vol. 10. These appearances have helped introduce his music to a broader international audience while placing his productions alongside artists working across similar underground styles.

His approach is closely connected with the atmosphere and rhythmic traditions behind the music he selects and produces. Rather than separating organic, Afro-influenced and deeper electronic sounds, he blends those elements into sets and productions that favour continuity, texture and controlled progression.

As a DJ, he continues to develop that direction through performances and recorded mixes available via SoundCloud. His residency at Sala Estimulante has also provided a regular platform for refining his selections and presenting his interpretation of deeper electronic music.

An important part of Navaa’s wider ambition is to bring greater international attention to electronic artists from Mozambique. His own releases and DJ appearances therefore sit alongside a broader interest in representing the creativity emerging from his home country.

PatriZe opens After Hours 445 with VieL's remix of Phoesy's "Cosmic Sunday" before Stranger Tourists appear twice through remixes for Nicolas Giordano and Gonza Ponce. Vitalii Gridnev and Guhus continue the first hour with a deep, atmospheric Progressive House character built around gradual development and restrained rhythmic pressure.

Alberto Hernandez gives Dany Dz's "Sahara" a deeper interpretation before Erdi Irmak takes over for consecutive remixes of DJ Zombi with Madraas and MKLY. Arina Mur's remix of Ercos Blanka and the Mariner + Domingo interpretation of F//asco then complete PatriZe's hour with another run of melodic, immersive progressive material.

Navaa begins the second hour with Alberto Hernandez's "Great Stories Never Have An Ending" and Lisandro's "Serenade", shifting the programme further towards Organic House and the softer side of progressive music. Amonita's remix of Harrison Storm and Cocho's "Caléndula" continue that warmer direction with flowing percussion and an increasingly organic melodic character.

Felipe Gonzalez and Lautaro Fernandez contribute an unidentified selection that remains exactly as supplied before Nacho Varela and Cruz Vittor bring in "Words" with Geri Terella. Cocho's remix of Matt Lee then reconnects the second hour with The Purr, while Navaa's own "Dream Of You" places the guest directly into the closing sequence.

Alessio Serra's "The Sighed Voice" leads into Pedro Capelossi's "Strain Hunters" to finish a second hour centred on organic textures, progressive depth and melodic restraint. Across the complete programme, PatriZe and Navaa blend Progressive House with Organic House and deeper melodic material, giving the two sets distinct characters while maintaining the patient atmosphere associated with After Hours.
