After Hours announces host Patrize and guest DJ Ethen Bass for 419

After Hours, hosted by PatriZe, returns with another edition on Scientific Sound Asia, featuring Ethen Bass as the guest DJ for the second hour. Scientific Sound Asia operates as an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency, promoter and music news platform, connecting underground artists and listeners across the region and internationally.

The programme is centred on Progressive House while also drawing from deeper, melodic and Techno-influenced areas of electronic music. Its two-hour format places him in the opening hour before handing the second half to a guest DJ or producer from the wider underground scene.

Originally from Belgium and now based in Thailand, PatriZe began exploring electronic music during his teenage years after acquiring his first turntables. His early interests leaned towards harder Trance and Techno before gradually shifting towards the more melodic and detailed structures of Prog House.

An important stage in his development came in 2010 through his connection with Pole Folder of Bedrock Records and Reworck. Around the same period, he won the Night Museum DJ competition in France and earned the opportunity to open for Guy J.

Those experiences helped strengthen his place within the Progressive House scene and shaped the direction his DJing would take. His sets developed around careful track selection, gradual progression and melodic layering supported by deeper and more technical rhythms.

From Thailand, he established Foundations and After Hours as regular platforms for underground Progressive House DJs. Both programmes have given him space to present his own selections while also introducing guest DJs and producers from different parts of the international scene.

In April 2015, he co-founded AH Digital with fellow Belgian DJ and producer Hypnotised. The label became closely connected with their production work and with a wider network of artists working across Progressive House and related styles.

Their early collaboration People from the Otherworld became one of the project’s notable releases, reaching number four in Beatport’s Progressive chart while also entering its Techno and Tech House rankings. The title track was later remixed by Rui Da Silva, adding another established producer to the release.

AH Digital has remained an important part of his work as both a producer and label operator. Its connection with After Hours also provides a direct link between the programme, new releases and artists working within the wider Progressive House community.

He continues to develop his work through DJing, production, radio and label activity while maintaining a strong focus on deeper Progressive tracks. His approach remains centred on controlled pacing, melodic development and the kind of underground selection that has defined After Hours across its long-running series.

Guest DJ (second hour) Ethen Bass.

This edition’s second-hour guest is Ethen Bass, real name Rohan Ramnathan, an Indian DJ and producer whose work centres on Progressive House and related underground electronic music. He began exploring electronic music in 2008 after acquiring a DJ controller and becoming increasingly drawn to Techno, Progressive House and Trance.

Over time, Ethen Bass developed a style rooted in melody while maintaining enough flexibility to work across different areas of House and Techno. His DJ sets are generally built around Progressive House and Techno, with track selection shaped more by the flow of the set than by strict genre boundaries.

His career in India has included performances alongside artists such as Kash Trivedi, Ankytrixx and Sequ3l. These appearances helped establish him within the local electronic music scene while giving him experience supporting both Indian and international artists.

As a producer, Ethen Bass has continued to build a catalogue through labels including AH Digital, 3rd Avenue, Future Avenue, OLD SQL Recordings, Zephyr Music and Symmetric Records. His work includes original productions and remixes, with Progressive House remaining the clearest thread across those releases.

Recent material includes his remix of Vadim Ketsky’s Symbiosis for Future Avenue, his remix of Vaedar’s Magna for Zephyr Music and a rework of Hernan Serrao and Cristian Antonioni’s Relax for OLD SQL Recordings. Further activity through AH Digital includes Returning, later remixed by Ulises Espindola and Aamir.M, alongside his deeper interpretation of AXXID’s The Middle.

During 2026, Ethen Bass also remixed Dhany G’s Nihsarana for 3rd Avenue, Tanuus’ Immerse in You for Symmetric Records and EDLands’ Mirror World for Zephyr Music. His own Voyager release followed on OLD SQL Recordings, accompanied by a remix from Gil MT.

His appearance on After Hours places that production background within a programme closely connected with the Progressive scene. The guest set adds an Indian perspective to the second hour while continuing the deeper and melodic direction established by the host in the opening half.

PatriZe opens After Hours 419 with MZN's remix of K3V's Beyond Horizon, immediately establishing a deep Progressive House direction built around patient transitions and steady melodic tension. NAHS and DJ Paul AR's remix of Alec Araujo follows before Julian Liander and Alex O'Rion with Antrim continue the controlled early progression through Kindred Spirit and Round Trip.

Sebastian Corral's remix of Fille V and TEELCO's treatment of Mattim maintain the measured flow before NOIYSE PROJECT gives Dylan Deck's Sahodaraya a darker, more atmospheric turn. Arzuk's remix of Maximo Gambini then leads into Dmitry Molosh's rework of Quivver, strengthening the latter part of the hour with a firmer rhythmic push.

Dmitry Molosh remains in focus for the close of PatriZe's section through his collaboration with Michael A on Integral for Replug. The track completes a first hour devoted entirely to Progressive House, moving from deeper melodic passages towards a stronger club finish without leaving the genre's long-form structure.

Ethen Bass begins the second hour with GMJ and Matter's Microclimate before Lanvary becomes a central presence through consecutive remixes of Hot Tuneik, Kay-D, Matan Caspi and GMJ with Matter. That extended sequence gives the hour a particularly cohesive identity, with each track developing the deep, atmospheric Progressive House character rather than introducing abrupt stylistic changes.

Imran Khan's remix of Lanvary's Late Bloom continues the progression before Pedro Capelossi reshapes Jonathan Reyes and Gabriel Filip's Black Bird. Fabri Lopez's remix of Mangata and Gabriel Filip then carries the programme towards its final stages, maintaining the melodic depth and steady rhythmic movement heard throughout the second hour.

Analog Jungs close After Hours 419 with their remix of Gaston Ponte's Cube on Clinique Recordings, completing a two-hour programme rooted entirely in Progressive House. PatriZe and Ethen Bass approach the style from complementary angles, with the first hour built around a wider range of producers and the second given extra continuity through its strong Lanvary and Proton Music presence.
