Event Details

This event took place at Night Life Bar, 8/21 Đường 49B, Thảo Điền, Thủ Đức, Ho Chi Minh City 700000, from 10 PM on 7 June 2024 until 3 AM on 8 June 2024. The venue has since closed, but the original location has been retained for archival accuracy.

After a long break, Scientific Sound Asia brought Our House back with a line-up of local and locally based selectors. The night focused entirely on House Music, moving through Deep House, Tech House, Funky House and melodic material across five hours.

The event featured DJ Psycho-UK, Skitty, Dobbo, Coh-hul and Anonymous Z. Rather than relying on an international headline act, the line-up placed the emphasis on DJs already connected with Scientific Sound Asia and Ho Chi Minh City’s underground electronic music community.

That local focus suited the return of Our House, which had always been built around groove and a broad interpretation of House rather than a single rigid subgenre. Deep House could sit alongside Tech House, funkier selections and more melodic records as the night developed.

DJ Psycho-UK represented Scientific Sound Asia and brought the House side of a collection shaped by several generations of underground music. His background stretches through East London Hip Hop, Acid House, Hardcore, Jungle and Drum and Bass, giving him a broad foundation from which to approach deeper and more classic club sounds.

Skitty is better known for his long connection with Jungle and Drum and Bass through labels including Metalheadz, Renegade Hardware and his own Foundation X imprint. For Our House, however, he joined a deliberately House-focused programme and brought a different side of his musical collection into the room.

Dobbo also crossed over from the bass-heavy events that were developing around Scientific Sound Asia during the same period. His inclusion helped underline the fact that the local network was not restricted to one genre, with selectors able to appear across dedicated Drum and Bass and House nights without merging the identities of the individual events.

Coh-hul brought another locally connected House perspective to the programme and was already associated with Scientific Sound Asia’s deeper club activity. His selections suited the groove-led character of Our House, where musical progression and dancefloor movement remained more important than pushing relentlessly towards harder peak-time material.

Anonymous Z completed the published line-up and added another selector to the five-DJ format. The surviving event information does not provide enough verified background for a detailed biography, so the archive retains the appearance without adding unsupported career information.

The music policy was deliberately broad within the House framework. Deeper grooves could establish the early part of the night before tech-led rhythms, funkier basslines and melodic elements brought different textures into the later hours.

Night Life Bar offered a compact setting for that approach and had already become part of Scientific Sound Asia’s renewed event activity in Thảo Điền. Two weeks earlier, the venue had hosted the first DnB Saigon, which brought DJ Psycho-UK, Skitty, Throe, Dobbo and Robson Jr together for a resident-led Drum and Bass night.

Later in June, the same venue hosted both Hip Hop Don’t Stop and DnB Saigon 2, making Night Life Bar a temporary home for several distinct Scientific Sound Asia event strands. House, Hip Hop, Jungle and Drum and Bass each retained their own dedicated format while sharing the same accessible neighbourhood venue.

The Our House concept itself had appeared previously in different Ho Chi Minh City settings, including the Our House Garden Party and BBQ at The Local Saigon in 2023. That earlier edition used an afternoon garden format before moving indoors, while Night Life Bar returned the series to a straightforward late-night club session.

Entry was 50,000 VND, keeping the event affordable and in line with the community-led character of the venue. The low ticket price supported a simple format built around local DJs, drinks and House Music rather than elaborate production or a large touring bill.

Scientific Sound Asia’s wider activity connects events like this with its radio station, DJ agency, events programme and music news. Our House represents the House-focused side of that history, providing a dedicated place for deeper, funkier and more melodic club music alongside the organisation’s other underground programmes.

Night Life Bar has since closed, but the June 2024 edition remains part of the archive as the return of Our House after a lengthy break. DJ Psycho-UK, Skitty, Dobbo, Coh-hul and Anonymous Z brought the series back with five hours of Deep House, Tech House, Funky House and melodic selections in Thảo Điền.
