DJ Marco Mei, the veteran Italian DJ and producer behind Bicycle Corporation, returns with another edition of his long-running radio series on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia operates as an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency, promoter and music news platform, connecting underground artists and listeners across the region and internationally.
With more than three decades behind the decks, Marco has developed a broad musical approach shaped by House, Deep House, Tech House, Disco, Techno and Afro-influenced rhythms. His long experience across clubs, radio and international touring has given him an adaptable style built around careful selection and an instinctive understanding of the dancefloor.
Marco began DJing in Turin during the early 1990s as Italy’s underground electronic music scene was developing rapidly. Through his involvement with the Urban People collective, he became closely connected with local events, club culture and the wider House and Techno movement emerging around the city.
That early period gave him experience in both DJing and event organisation before his reputation extended beyond Turin and across Italy. International opportunities followed, eventually establishing a career that would take him through Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
A residency at Pacha in Sharm el-Sheikh became an important stage in Marco’s international development. Further appearances followed at venues including Woo Bar in Bali, The Mansion in Shanghai, Fuse in Brussels and The Observatory in Ho Chi Minh City.
These bookings exposed him to a wide range of club cultures and audiences, strengthening the versatility that remains central to his work. Rather than following one fixed formula, Marco adapts his selections to the setting while retaining the musical foundations developed over decades behind the decks.
In 2009, Marco formed Bicycle Corporation with fellow Italian producer Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884. Together, they have developed a catalogue of more than fifty original productions and remixes released through labels including Alchemy, Miniatures, WL77, Suka and GrooveTraxx.
The partnership combines Marco’s understanding of club programming and dancefloor structure with Stefano’s background in classical piano, percussion, drums and studio production. That balance allows Bicycle Corporation to work across different areas of House and Techno while maintaining a clear connection with underground electronic music.
Marco relocated to Taipei in 2010 and has remained closely connected with electronic music activity across Asia ever since. His position in the region brings together an extensive European background with direct experience of club scenes and artist communities across the continent.
Through his radio series on Scientific Sound Asia, Marco continues to present selections shaped by decades of collecting, performing and producing music. Each edition provides space for his broad musical interests while maintaining the careful pacing, versatility and club-focused approach that have defined his career.
DJ Marco Mei opens 2025 Episode 37 with Alinka's Touch The Flame, setting an uplifting House tone before Avision's Get Down adds a more direct club rhythm. Daphni and Caribou's Waiting So Long then brings in a warmer Disco House feel, while Mia Moretti and DJ Pierre keep the early section rooted in vocal-led House Music.
Eli Escobar's Disco Heat adds a clear Nu Disco sparkle before Four Tet and Loods with Gerd Janson take the programme deeper into groove-driven territory. Reboot, Secondcity with Monty Kiddo and Big Time Charlie, and Jay De Lys maintain the forward momentum through tightly focused club tracks with a bright, energetic character.
Melon Bomb's Without You leads into Oliver Dollar's Funked Up and Cosmic Weapon, giving the middle of the mix a deeper and more muscular House feel. Mousse T, Wankelmut and Francesco Yates then introduce a more accessible Dance and Pop influence with Some Kinda Feeling, adding a lighter melodic turn without breaking the flow.
KiNK's Comin restores a punchier rhythm before Airwolf Paradise's edit of Tim Deluxe's It Just Won't Do introduces a lively Tech House edge. Wh0 and The Fog keep the pressure high with Been A Long Time, while Davide Dev's Shine softens the mood through a warmer Deep House glow.
Kolter's Love Dancing brings the Nu Disco influence back into focus before Kid Mark's The Matter (Dub) and Emanuel Satie's Give It All continue the late-stage House groove. The Cloonee and Fezzo remix of MGMT's Kids then adds a more playful club energy, setting up the final sequence with a sharper contemporary edge.
Reckless Eyes brings deeper tones into the closing section before Jordan Moxey's edit of Pasilda introduces a Latin House flavour and a warmer percussive lift. Floorfillers' Love Is Growing finishes Episode 37 on an upbeat note, closing a session built around House, Disco House, Deep House, Nu Disco and modern club variations.
