Falso Simulacro to perform his sixth guest show featuring David Aarz

Falso Simulacro returns with his sixth guest show on Scientific Sound Asia with guest DJ David Aarz. Scientific Sound Asia operates as an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency, promoter and music news platform connecting underground artists and listeners across the region and internationally.

Falso Simulacro is the production and DJ alias of Rodrigo Perez Moran, an Argentinian artist from Buenos Aires with more than three decades of experience behind the decks. His involvement in electronic music developed through the city's club culture after an earlier background in DJing that began during the 1980s.

Across his career, Rodrigo has held resident positions at a number of venues in Buenos Aires while also performing throughout Argentina. His work has also taken him outside the country, including a period performing in Uruguay during the early 1990s.

His production background began to take shape professionally in 1993 when he worked as a production assistant at Top Records. Since then, his catalogue has moved through Progressive House, Deep House, Tech House and Techno, reflecting the broad musical range that also appears throughout his DJ sets.

Rather than limiting Falso Simulacro to one narrow style, Rodrigo uses the project to explore different sides of underground electronic music. Deeper and more atmospheric selections sit alongside stronger club material, allowing his sets to shift gradually between melodic, progressive and more driving directions.

Radio has become another important part of his activity, extending his music beyond the clubs and events where he performs. His shows have appeared on stations including Maxximixx Electra in Tel Aviv and LDN Radio in London, alongside his regular guest appearances on Scientific Sound Asia.

These broadcasts give Falso Simulacro space to present longer-form selections and new music from across the underground scene. His sixth Scientific Sound Asia guest show continues that approach, combining decades of DJ experience with the progressive and electronic styles that have shaped his more recent production work.

This month's guest is David Aarz, a Spanish DJ and producer from Granada whose connection with electronic music began at an early age. His growing interest in club culture led him towards DJing and eventually into regular appearances across some of the most important venues in his home city.

David became a familiar name within Granada's electronic music scene and was recognised with the award for Best DJ at the Granada Electronic Culture Awards in 2017. His performances combine club-focused energy with a broad understanding of underground electronic music, allowing him to adapt his sets across different settings and audiences.

Over the years, he has shared line-ups with artists including Umek, Riva Starr, Marco Bailey, Adrian Hour, Fer BR, James Zabiela, Alex Under, Cuartero, Uner, Mendo and Gabriel D'Or & Bordoy. These appearances placed him alongside a wide range of established international DJs and producers while helping expand his own profile beyond southern Spain.

His touring activity has taken him to clubs and events in Madrid, Palma de Mallorca, Barcelona, Amsterdam and Costa Rica. Those international appearances added further depth to his experience and helped connect his work with audiences outside the Spanish club circuit.

In 2015, David founded Papotako Records as a platform for new producers from Spain and abroad. The label was created to support developing talent while giving artists a dedicated outlet for electronic music across several different styles.

Papotako Records has achieved multiple Beatport chart placements, including number-one, Top 5 and Top 100 positions. Its catalogue has covered Electro House, Big Room, Tech House and Techno, reflecting the wider range of music associated with David's work as both a DJ and label owner.

The label's development was recognised in 2018 when Papotako Records received the award for Best Record Label at the Granada Electronic Culture Awards. Since then, the imprint has continued to expand its roster and catalogue while attracting support from established names within the electronic music scene.

David Aarz's guest appearance brings that experience as a DJ, producer and label founder into this month's show. His background across club performance, artist development and independent label activity gives the session a strong connection with the Spanish and international underground electronic music community.

Falso Simulacro opens the first hour of Episode 6 with his own intro before Dani Sbert's "Shape" establishes a dark and driving Techno direction. DJOKO's "Loud Bark" changes the groove before Vincent VanDamm's remix of Gaga's "Descends" restores the pressure, pushing the mix through tightly wound percussion and increasingly forceful club rhythms.

Monococ's remix of Lewis' "Questions" leads into Falso Simulacro's own "The Tech Casa Dark", giving the centre of the hour a more personal stamp while maintaining its stripped, underground character. Matt Sassari then appears twice through "Seigneur Gondor" and his remix of Daddy Russell's "Binary Options", before Lander B with Dok & Martin and Peppou complete an opening hour weighted towards Peak Time Techno and tougher late-night material.

David Aarz changes the complexion of the programme in the second hour, beginning with Shazse, Darren Bray and Midas 104 with T.M.A as the music opens into more spacious melodic territory. His own "Papotako Forever" brings House Music into the set, providing a warmer midpoint before Ilya Shvetc and Rob Yes steer the selection back towards deeper electronic movement.

AmyElle and Damate continue the second hour with a more melodic club approach before Adrian Hour's "Remain Seated" introduces the firmer groove of Tech House. DoR's "Tribe" and Ango Tamarin's "Steam Roller" bring the programme to a rhythmic finish, completing two contrasting hours that move from darker techno into Melodic House and Techno, house and groove-led club music.
