DJ Kafka publishes his tracklist for episode 26

This Sunday, DJ Kafka presents another edition of his monthly show on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia operates as an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency, event promoter and music news platform, serving listeners across the region and internationally.

Sai Subramanian, better known as DJ Kafka, is an Indian DJ whose career has developed through clubs, radio and electronic music production. A graduate of the Spin DJ Academy, he built his reputation through appearances at venues including Tavern, Brighton, Lush, HQ, Purple Haze and Vie Lounge.

His DJ sets combine technical control with a broad electronic music vocabulary shaped by years of club experience. Techno, Electronica and Experimental music can sit alongside Deep House, Tech House and Progressive material, allowing his programmes to move through different moods without losing their connection to the dancefloor.

Examples of that approach can be heard through his SoundCloud profile, where his recorded sets demonstrate an emphasis on progression, atmosphere and carefully structured transitions. Rather than concentrating on a single genre, Kafka uses changes in rhythm and texture to build longer musical sequences.

His international radio activity has included guest appearances through stations such as Play FM in Austria, Desert Island Decks and Studio Lux FM in Luxembourg. These broadcasts have helped extend his work beyond India while introducing his selections to electronic music audiences in other regions.

Kafka draws inspiration from artists including Massive Attack, Cristian Paduraru and Skream, reflecting the breadth of influences behind his DJing. Those references range from deeper electronic music and bass-driven production to more atmospheric and experimental approaches.

Beyond radio and club appearances, he has worked with event partners including Kroniq, T3Entertainment, Wizard Networks, The Midnight Project and Sync Entertainment. These collaborations have given him experience across different types of events while allowing him to adapt his musical approach to different audiences and settings.

His production activity has also expanded through connections with labels including Visiomind Records in Vienna and projects associated with Mechanic and Tropic Records in Mexico City. That studio work extends the same broad musical direction heard in his DJ sets, moving through House, Techno and related electronic styles.

Kafka’s international recognition has included winning the Maxximixx DJ Awards in Israel in 2021 and the HMRPool DJ Contest in Trinidad and Tobago in 2022. These achievements added another dimension to a career already developed through performance, broadcasting and independent electronic music production.

Recorded shows and additional material can also be explored through his Mixcloud profile. His continuing radio work gives him space to present both established producers and newer underground material while maintaining the patient progression that has become central to his style.

DJ Kafka opens Podcast 26 with Pietro Nicosia's Afro-inflected funk before Space Motion and Andrea Oliva with Black Circle steer the programme towards House Music and Melodic House and Techno. Applescal and AFFKT introduce an Indie Dance turn before Two Are, Baran Ozhan and Lane 8 with Arctic Lake deepen the melodic progression through the early part of the mix.

German Brigante and Yamil bring Organic House into the sequence before Nico Falla with Mats, Tali Muss and Mayro, OJAX and Proof Db keep the middle section moving across dance, progressive and melodic club music. Calvin Harris appears twice in contrasting settings, first with Tom Grennan on a Tech House cut and then alongside Disciples, before John Digweed and Nick Muir's remix of David Morales restores the Progressive House emphasis.

Fedde Le Grand and Mr. V provide an acapella bridge before Years Of Denial's remix of So-J introduces the harder drive of Peak Time Techno and The Prodigy's "Narayan" pushes the programme firmly into Electronica. Jonathan Kaspar briefly returns to melodic territory, while LO'99, Claude VonStroke with Eprom, Wheats and Andre Salmon with Cris Cobena drive the latter stages through acid-edged tech house and heavier club pressure.

Faze Action's "Good Lovin'" provides a clear Disco break before The Chemical Brothers reconnect the set with big-beat electronic history and Manchild takes it further away from conventional four-to-the-floor programming. Franz Siren's "Antisocial" then enters deep dubstep and grime territory before Eprom's "Hope" closes with drum and bass and halftime rhythms, completing one of DJ Kafka's broadest journeys from Afro House and melodic club music into bass-heavy underground electronics.

Tune in for the live broadcast on Sunday, August 30, 2026, from 8 PM to 10 PM Indochina Time (ICT). A replay will be available on Thursday from 8 AM to 10 AM (ICT).
