Bicycle Corporation return with Foundations episode 35, this time featuring guest DJ Vivienne Wu on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia operates as an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency, promoter and music news platform serving listeners across the region and internationally.
Bicycle Corporation is the Italian duo formed by Marco Mei and Stefano Ugliano, better known as 6884. Together they have built a catalogue spanning Deep House, Tech House, French House, melodic electronic music and Techno.
Marco began his career in Turin during the early 1990s as a DJ and producer before becoming involved with the Urban People collective. Through that project, he developed his experience as a promoter and organiser while presenting electronic music events across Italy.
His growing reputation eventually led to a residency with Pacha in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. That period strengthened his international profile and helped open the way for further bookings across Europe, Asia and other parts of the global club circuit.
Over the years, Marco has shared the booth with internationally recognised artists including Roger Sanchez, Harry Romero, David Morales, Justin Berkmann, Sander Kleinenberg and Ralph Falcon. Those experiences added further depth to a DJ career already shaped by House, Techno, Disco and wider underground electronic influences.
Stefano grew up in Turin and showed a strong musical ability from an early age, studying classical piano, percussion and drums. His wider interests included Chopin and West African djembe, giving him a broad rhythmic and melodic foundation before electronic music became his primary focus.
As a teenager, Stefano became increasingly fascinated by DJ culture and the electronic records that were still difficult to hear on mainstream Italian radio during the 1990s. That curiosity eventually led him towards production and the technical side of creating the music that had captured his attention.
When Stefano met Marco, the pair discovered a shared understanding of electronic music and began working together as Bicycle Corporation. Marco's experience behind the decks and Stefano's musical background gave the project a flexible base for moving between deeper, melodic and more driving club material.
Their work has since appeared across numerous international labels while the pair have continued producing, remixing and developing radio projects together. They have also revisited material from the earlier stages of their catalogue and made selected productions available through their Bandcamp page.
Foundations gives Bicycle Corporation space to explore the records, artists and musical influences that have shaped their development beyond their own productions. Episode 35 continues that approach with guest DJ Vivienne Wu, bringing another perspective into a series centred on the deeper roots behind contemporary underground electronic music.

This week’s guest is Vivienne Wu, a Canadian-Taiwanese DJ currently based in Taiwan. Although relatively new to DJing, she quickly established herself within Taipei’s electronic music scene through a distinctive, high-energy approach.
Her sets are centred on Melodic Techno, Hard Techno and Techno, with a style that favours darker textures, faster tempos and sustained dancefloor pressure. She has performed at a number of recognised events and venues around Taipei, building a reputation for energetic selections and strong crowd connection.
More of her current activity can be followed through Instagram, where her performances and developing DJ profile are documented. Her approach combines intensity with a positive atmosphere, using heavier electronic music to create momentum rather than simply relying on aggression.
Vivienne is particularly drawn to the direct relationship between the DJ and the people on the dancefloor. That response has become an important source of motivation as she continues refining her technique and expanding her experience behind the decks.
Her recorded work can also be explored through Mixcloud, providing another view of the musical direction she has been developing. The platform reflects the same focus on dark, driving electronic music that characterises her club performances.
Looking ahead, Vivienne has expressed an interest in moving into music production alongside her DJ work. That next step would allow her to develop a more individual studio identity while continuing to build on the momentum she has already created within Taiwan’s electronic music scene.
Her appearance on Foundations gives listeners an opportunity to hear the influences behind that developing identity. The set reflects her preference for Melodic Techno, Hard Techno and Techno while placing those sounds within the broader musical context that has shaped her as a DJ.
Vivienne Wu opens Foundations 35 with Jerry Horny before SveTec’s “Set Up” establishes the uncompromising pulse of Hard Techno, a 146 BPM cut built for sheer forward pressure. DJ Lint and Thomas P. Heckmann maintain that intensity before Anetha’s “How Would They Know” introduces the sharper rave sensibility that becomes increasingly important as the set develops.
Onleash, Valerie Ace and Jullian Muller keep the programme moving through distorted drums and fast, functional club structures, while D. Dan and Sina XX add another strain of driving Techno without softening the pace. Jensen Interceptor’s “Citi Gurls” brings an electro-influenced machine rhythm into the sequence before SveTec’s “90’s Rave” reconnects the set with the harder end of warehouse and rave culture.
LSDXOXO’s “Sick Bitch” in the ANAL HOUSE remix pushes the middle of the programme towards a crossover of techno, house and ballroom-derived club music, matching an artist whose work regularly pulls those styles together. Jacidorex, Koszmar, Sindex and Lobster B then return the focus to accelerated rave pressure, while LSDXOXO’s “The Devil” keeps the vocal club energy present without breaking the set’s aggressive momentum.
Bad Boombox, Crystal Geometry, Vizionn and Bad Boypete drive the latter stages deeper into hard, abrasive territory before Jacidorex, Joey Risdon and Tommy Holohan maintain the frantic club pace. Onleash with FAKETHIAS, Analect and Buzzi lead into Anetha and Sugar, Index and Olmec Heads before Anetha closes with “Beethoven Remixed”, completing a set centred on hard techno, rave, acid pressure and flashes of Electro.
