Graham Gold has just unveiled the tracklist for his weekly show 'Esta La Musica'. Scientific Sound Asia is the premier underground radio station, DJ agency, and promoter for South East Asia.
Graham's show was christened after a tattoo on his right upper arm, a memory from a performance in Los Angeles, United States, dating back to 1999. However, Graham's global recognition in the DJ world and music industry blossomed through his weekly shows on London's Kiss 100 and his renowned club brand, Peach.
Following his departure from Kiss 100 and relocation to South East Asia, Graham launched his new show, utilising the name tattooed on his arm as the title: 'Esta La Musica', focusing on techno. Graham initially gained local fame through his decade-long residency, six nights a week, at Gullivers Club in London's Mayfair, spanning from 1980 to 1990.
Graham's ascent to the top began at the age of 17 in the early seventies. His passion for Afrocentric music inspired the creation of a popular mobile disco with a friend, known as 'The Funky Road Show', which quickly became the most sought-after brand in West London. By the age of 18, Graham was showcasing his love for black music five nights a week in the capital.
This journey in the 80s saw Graham venturing across numerous pirate radio stations throughout London, exploring a musical spectrum spanning from reggae and soul to disco and jazz-funk. Eventually, he joined the Radio London Soul Night Out team and secured a weekly Saturday night soul show on London's Capital FM. His exceptional talent earned him the title of 'Broadcaster of the Year' in 1985.
Graham played a pivotal role in the inception of Kiss FM London, marking the turning point for his global recognition as a DJ. His weekly shows were regarded as the driving force behind Kiss's success, catapulting him onto the world stage. He enjoyed eight consecutive years in the DJ Magazine Top 100 and earned a spot on Dash's Most Popular DJs in the World of All Time.
Graham continues to command a large international following and sustains his passion for music through his show and frequent performances across Asia and around the globe. His weekly show showcases the finest in House and Techno, featuring promos directly from labels and artists.
These genres encompass Deep House, Progressive House, Melodic House and Techno, Tech House, Deep Tech, Organic House, and Techno. This show was originally broadcast on Saturday, the 3rd of August. You can listen to it on the Mixcloud player below.
