DJ Andrew M has released the playlist for episode 08 of his weekly Disco show, broadcasting this Sunday. Scientific Sound Asia is an English-language electronic music station, promoter, and DJ agency serving listeners across the Asian region.

Andrew has recently returned to Singapore after a run of private international events, performing at parties across the USA, Canada, the UK, the Netherlands, India, the UAE, Australia and South Africa. When not travelling, he spends his time digging for records and playing specialist vinyl sets, where he showcases his collection as a selector with deep musical heritage.

His diversity as a DJ is grounded in a long history with funk and hip hop, and he brings an extensive knowledge of music gathered over several decades. His collection spans both digital and vinyl formats, and his experience allows him to move fluently between genres while keeping his sets rooted in rhythm, groove and character.

For more than a decade, he has performed at a wide range of notable clubs, bars and events in Singapore, including Tanjong Beach Club, Kult, CAD, Artemis, Kilo, Loof, Zouk, BluJaz, Tippling Club, Choice Cuts and Great Escape, along with regional appearances in Indonesia and Thailand.

Andrew’s journey began in Australia, where he hosted influential hip hop radio shows throughout the 80s and 90s and held several club residencies. Over the years, he has continued to stay involved in every part of DJ culture: private events that keep his crowd sensibilities sharp, bar and club sets that maintain his versatility, vinyl gatherings that reconnect him with the fun of pure selection, and radio, which remains his original passion.

This week’s show focuses on Disco in all its forms, from overlooked gems to timeless classics. Andrew’s preferred format is the 12-inch single, allowing each track to play in its full extended version and breathe naturally, offering listeners a deeper and more authentic Disco experience.

DJ Andrew M’s Disco Show 08 erupts straight into Prince’s 1984 masterpiece Erotic City, its pulsating Minneapolis funk setting the tone for an hour of unfiltered dance-floor heat. The Untouchables follow with their rare Freak In The Street, Chocolate keeps the Harlem street vibe rolling, and Secret Weapon detonates the timeless Prelude anthem Must Be The Music.

D-Train locks in with the immortal You’re The One For Me, one of the most sampled basslines in history, before Crown Heights Affair commands the floor with their 1979 classic Dancin’. Starguard demand you Wear It Out, Grey & Hanks keep the four-on-the-floor relentless, and Norma Jean’s Saturday explodes into weekend euphoria.

Phil Hurtt takes us to Boogie City with his Fantasy Records groover, and Le Pamplemousse close the night with their outrageous AVI Records monkey business, proving disco never really died, it just went underground.

DJ Andrew M’s Disco Show 08 is a masterclass in peak-time boogie and funk, stitching together stone-cold classics and rare street cuts into one unstoppable celebration of the golden era.
