Bicycle Corporation welcomes guest DJ Murphy Kin, also known as DJ Lucy, for a new edition of their ‘Roots’ show. Broadcast on Scientific Sound Asia, the leading Asian electronic music station, DJ agency, and promoter, the series continues to connect audiences across the region and beyond through quality underground sounds.
Bicycle Corporation is the long-standing collaboration between Italian DJ and producer Marco Mei and musician Stefano Ugliano, known by his alias 6884. Together, they have released over 50 tracks covering multiple shades of house and techno, from melodic and deep to tech and French house, blending musicality with club-focused energy.
Marco began his career in the early 1990s as part of the event collective Urban People, quickly gaining recognition across Italy’s emerging house and techno scene. His success soon led to international bookings around the world, earning him a reputation as a dynamic and versatile DJ with a global outlook.
Stefano, hailing from Torino, Italy, showed musical promise from a young age. A classically trained pianist, percussionist, and drummer, he drew influence from composers like Chopin and the rhythmic traditions of West African Djembe. Despite his grounding in classical music, his fascination with electronic sound and DJ culture inspired him to merge technical precision with emotional expression through performance and production.
The duo’s partnership as Bicycle Corporation embodies this fusion of traditional musicianship and modern electronic creativity. Their shared dedication and persistence have carried them from the early underground days of Italy’s scene to international credit.
Despite their success, Marco and Stefano remain rooted in their origins. They continue to revisit their early catalogue and recently launched a Bandcamp page to share their classic material with a new generation of listeners, reinforcing the philosophy behind the ‘Roots’ series, honouring where it all began while continuing to evolve.

Guest DJ Murphy Kin.
This week’s guest DJ is Murphy Kin, also known as DJ Lucy. DJ Lucy’s endless curiosity drives him to keep exploring new sounds and ideas. Originally working in the film industry, his transition into DJing and music production reflects his belief that creativity should be limitless and unbounded.
Listening to Lucy’s sets is like watching a film. His music flows through highs and lows, creating emotion and movement rather than relying on predictable rhythms. He doesn’t rush to take his audience to a climax from the start but instead builds the atmosphere gradually.
From romantic rock and classic old-school grooves to flirtatious R&B, then into disco, indie, rock, and dance, his mixes unfold like cinematic stories filled with colour and depth. Positive and energetic by nature, DJ Lucy embraces a wide range of musical influences.
His sets often move effortlessly between hip hop, rock, punk, indie rock, and jazz, blending them together with rhythm and intention. He aims to guide the emotions of his audience through sound, using variety and contrast to create a connection.
Since 2015, DJ Lucy has led the collective Ting Ting Disco, well known for its eclectic and lively events across bars, pubs, and clubs in Taipei and Shanghai. By 2017, the collective expanded its reach across Asia, bringing its distinctive parties and musical experiences to new audiences.
In 2021, Ting Ting Disco evolved beyond events to include music releases, collecting and integrating sounds from artists around the world. The goal has been to give listeners a wider and more diverse choice of music, reflecting the open and borderless spirit of the collective.
On stage, DJ Lucy performs without rules or boundaries. His sets are guided by the moment, the vibe, and the energy of the crowd. Sometimes he reacts to the atmosphere, and sometimes he shapes it, controlling emotions like a film director guiding a story.
Murphy Kin opens Roots 160 with Iron Curtis’ Oh Come On, a smooth house groove that leads naturally into the warm, soulful flow of Lukas Poellauer’s When a Groove Is In Control. Majesty’s Daniel’s Dream injects subtle tech house rhythm, while Magnetic Soul’s Blue Flame and Manu Dibango’s The Panther introduce vibrant funk and Afro-disco tones.
As the mix deepens, Mov D’s Babyphonk and Moodyman’s Misled explore the deeper end of house, joined by Micv Newman’s Live East (Runaway Remix) and HOKI’s Land of Our Dead (Matthias Meyer Remix). Murphy Kin’s transitions between deep, melodic, and soulful selections give the set a seamless flow, with Fabio Fuso’s Obscurity expanding into lush melodic house and techno territory.
Global influences play a central role here. Bolo Bolo Ali Ali by Sajjad Ali and MMT’s Denizalti Ruzgarlari bring South Asian and Turkish disco textures, contrasting beautifully with Mop Mop’s Kamakumba and Mordisco’s Odissi, which dip into dance and dark disco moods. The appearance of Herbie Hancock’s You Bet Your Love and Michael Jackson’s Thriller (Louis La Roche Dub Mix) adds a vintage-meets-modern soul to the journey.
The closing stretch is rich with feel-good rhythm, as One More Try by Monsieur Van Pratt and Fresco by Musta tie together elements of nu disco and indie dance, while Middle’s Mood brings the set home with deep, enveloping warmth. Roots 160 captures Murphy Kin’s signature blend of deep house, disco, and funk, enriched by experimental global influences that redefine the Roots series.
