Our House with DJ Psycho-UK took place at Movers and Shakers, 85/2 Phạm Viết Chánh, Phường 19, Bình Thạnh, Ho Chi Minh City 700000, from 10 PM on 26 July 2025 until 2 AM on 27 July 2025. Scientific Sound Asia and Movers and Shakers presented Our House in the heart of Bình Thạnh, returning the series to its deeper, funkier and more soulful House foundations.

The four-hour session focused on Deep House, Tech House, Soulful House, Funky House and Classic House. Movers and Shakers provided a warm wine and cocktail bar setting where the emphasis could remain on grooves, basslines and carefully selected records rather than large-scale club production.

Our House had already returned to the Scientific Sound Asia programme in 2024 with Our House at Night Life Bar in Thảo Điền. That edition featured DJ Psycho-UK alongside Skitty, Dobbo, Coh-hul and Anonymous Z, covering Deep, Tech, Funky and Melodic areas of House Music.

The series itself had appeared in several different settings over the years rather than being tied to one particular club. Earlier editions included the Our House Garden Party and BBQ at The Local Saigon, where the music moved from an afternoon garden session into an indoor party later in the night.

For the Movers and Shakers edition, DJ Psycho-UK handled the programme alone and returned firmly to the House side of his record collection. His wider musical background stretches through Hip Hop, Acid House, Hardcore, Jungle, Drum and Bass and underground rave culture, but Our House gave him a dedicated setting for deeper and more groove-led selections.

The East London DJ began collecting and playing music at the age of fourteen and developed through the period when Hip Hop, Acid House, Hardcore and Techno were reshaping British underground club culture. Influences during those early years included Public Enemy, KRS-One, Run-DMC, DJ Hype, Carl Cox, Mickey Finn, A Guy Called Gerald, Leftfield, Portishead and Massive Attack.

His early activity also connected him with London’s squat-party and rave network during the 1990s, including links around the Production House Records circle. DJs and producers including DMS, The House Crew and X-Static formed part of the musical environment surrounding those years, while pirate radio provided another route into the capital’s underground scene.

DJ Psycho-UK later appeared on London stations including AXE FM and Fantasy FM and performed at venues such as Scala, Bagley’s Film Studios, 491 Gallery, 291 Gallery and 333. After becoming based in Vietnam, his appearances extended to Piu Piu, Basement, Indika, Cargo Remote, Pogo Beach Club, Dragon Beach, The Lab and numerous independent venues around the country.

That broad history allowed the Movers and Shakers session to draw from several generations of House Music without becoming a nostalgia event. Classic House could sit alongside deeper contemporary records, Soulful House and funkier material while Tech House added additional low-end movement as the night developed.

The smaller bar environment also suited a more intimate interpretation of the series than some of Scientific Sound Asia’s larger international bookings. Guests could settle into the venue for drinks while the musical direction remained firmly danceable, creating a setting where House functioned equally well as listening music and late-night club material.

Entry was free, keeping the event consistent with the accessible format used across several earlier Our House editions. The original listing promoted good drinks, quality sound and “proper House” rather than an elaborate production concept, which matched the straightforward approach of the night.

Scientific Sound Asia’s wider activity connects events such as this with its radio station, DJ agency, events programme and music news. The Movers and Shakers edition continued the House-focused side of that history while taking the long-running Our House concept into another Ho Chi Minh City neighbourhood.

Our House at Movers and Shakers kept the formula deliberately simple: DJ Psycho-UK, four hours of House Music and a free-entry wine and cocktail bar in Bình Thạnh. Deep House, Soulful House, Funky House, Classic House and Tech House provided the musical framework for a night that returned the series to the grooves and basslines at its core.
