Cali’s HouseNation Radio returns with Nocturne of Digital Audio Kingz hosting another edition on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia operates as an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency, promoter and music news platform, connecting underground artists and listeners across the region and internationally.
Originally from Los Angeles and now based in San Diego, Nocturne began DJing in 2007 under the name DJ Turiz. His early musical background included Reggaeton and Hip Hop alongside Latin styles such as Bachata, Merengue, Salsa and Cumbia, giving him a broad foundation before electronic music became his main direction.
During those early years, he established himself through performances across Southern California while developing his experience as a club DJ. Around 2013, his focus shifted increasingly towards electronic music as House and related styles became a larger part of his work.
Nocturne subsequently teamed up with DJ MORE to establish Digital Audio Kingz, expanding his activity into radio alongside club performances. The project provided a foundation for the broadcasting work that would later become an increasingly important part of his career.
In 2018, he adopted the Nocturne name and launched Cali’s HouseNation Radio as a dedicated House and dance music programme. The show later expanded through the CHNR Syndication Network, extending its reach beyond Southern California to radio audiences internationally.
His broadcasting has continued to develop through projects including On the Deep End, which explores deeper, progressive and melodic areas of House and Techno. He also presents Deep House Sessions through DAK Music, providing another outlet for the deeper and more groove-focused side of his musical collection.
These programmes allow Nocturne to explore different areas of electronic music without forcing everything into the same format. Cali’s HouseNation Radio remains the broader House platform, while his other shows provide additional space for deeper and more specialised selections.
This edition begins with a set from Nocturne before Los Angeles-based DJ Basekit takes control for the second part of the programme. The guest appearance brings another Southern California perspective to Cali’s HouseNation Radio, complementing Nocturne’s established format with a fresh selection centred on House music and club-focused grooves.

Guest DJs Basekit.
This edition of Cali’s HouseNation Radio features BASEKIT, a Los Angeles-based DJ and co-creator of The Playroom, a weekly mix series dedicated to House music and its many variations. Active since the late 1990s, he has developed an approach that brings together different genres of House, bass-driven material and tribal rhythms.
His selections range from soulful grooves to harder-edged club tracks while keeping rhythm and dancefloor flow at the centre of each set. Years behind the decks have given BASEKIT a broad perspective on House music, allowing established influences and newer productions to sit naturally alongside one another.
Alongside DJ Jungle George, BASEKIT hosts The Playroom as a platform for exploring different sides of House. The series incorporates deeper grooves, Nu Disco influences, Latin House and other club-focused sounds, giving both DJs room to develop varied selections within a consistent format.
Long-form mixing remains an important part of BASEKIT’s approach, with tracks connected through gradual changes in rhythm, energy and texture. Rather than treating each selection as an isolated moment, he builds sets around continuity and the relationship between one record and the next.
His long involvement with Los Angeles club culture has kept him connected with House music across several generations of DJs and audiences. Whether performing in clubs, broadcasting or recording mixes, BASEKIT continues to combine the foundations of classic House with contemporary underground music.
His appearance on Cali’s HouseNation Radio brings another Los Angeles perspective to a programme already closely connected with Southern California’s electronic music community. The guest set provides space for the deep, rhythmic and groove-focused side of House that has shaped BASEKIT’s work over more than two decades.
DJ Nocturne’s first hour begins with a wave of House Music tracks, from House Chose Me by KPD to Spencer Brown’s Ladies Love LFOs and Kristin Velvet’s Let The Music Play. Fuzzy Hair’s remix of Got It and Radio Slave & Nathalie Duchene’s We Are Youth reinforce the groove, while Gorge & Nick Curly’s Cale De Bou and Jay de Lys’ Someday keep the House spirit strong and Tommy Morgan’s You Are Real adds a smoother Deep House feel.
The set transitions into Tech House with Rony Seikaly’s The Party and Simon Doty’s No Sleep in the Jorhav remix. Resco (US) and RSquared follow with tight percussive workouts, while Jewel Kid’s Erotik and Elias R & Nicole Fiallo’s Tambor bring a harder club focus, with Gustaff & Tomi&Kesh maintaining the momentum on Drop Dat Neck before Holl & Rush close Nocturne’s set with a more mainstage-driven finish on Napoleon.
Basekit takes over with Jewel Kid’s Go Hard and Mark Knight & James Hurr’s You Take Me Higher, pushing the blend of House and Tech House forward. Capri & Low Steppa add extra bounce with Got The Funk, while Hatiras’ Hypnotized and Blank Sense’s Shy deliver a tighter club punch before Mark Knight & Roland Clark’s Televised keeps the pressure high and Cajmere & Dajae’s Brighter Days brings in a classic, soulful House feel.
The final stretch introduces broader rhythmic flavours, with Green Velvet & Bontan’s Percolator remix and Toman’s Verano En NY bringing more percussive, Latin-influenced club energy into the set. Green Velvet & Shermanology’s Hotter continues that groove before Harry Romero’s Paradise II and Tony Romero’s Time To Move return the focus to House, while Armand Van Helden’s I Want Your Soul closes the two-hour session with a clear nod to classic club history.
