Nocturne is back for Cali’s HouseNation Radio with guest DJ Andre

Cali’s HouseNation Radio returns with Nocturne of Digital Audio Kingz, hosting another edition on Scientific Sound Asia with DJ Andre. Scientific Sound Asia operates as an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency, promoter and music news platform, connecting underground artists and listeners across the region and internationally.

Originally from Los Angeles and now based in San Diego, Nocturne began DJing in 2007 under the name DJ Turiz. His early musical background included Reggaeton and Hip Hop alongside Latin styles such as Bachata, Merengue, Salsa and Cumbia, giving him a broad foundation before electronic music became his main direction.

During those early years, he established himself through performances across Southern California while developing his experience as a club DJ. Around 2013, his focus shifted increasingly towards electronic music and related styles became a larger part of his work.

Nocturne subsequently teamed up with DJ MORE to establish Digital Audio Kingz, expanding his activity into radio as well as club performances. The project helped provide a foundation for the broadcasting work that would later become an increasingly important part of his career.

In 2018, he adopted the Nocturne name and launched Cali’s HouseNation Radio as a dedicated electronic and dance music programme. The show later expanded through the CHNR Syndication Network, extending its reach beyond Southern California to radio audiences internationally.

His broadcasting has continued to develop through projects including On the Deep End, which explores deeper, progressive and melodic areas of House and Techno. He also presents Deep House Sessions through DAK Music, providing another outlet for the deeper and more groove-focused side of his musical collection.

These programmes allow Nocturne to explore different parts of electronic music without forcing everything into the same format. Cali’s HouseNation Radio remains the broader platform, while his other shows provide more space for deeper and more specialised selections.

This edition begins with a set from Nocturne before guest DJ Andre takes control for the second part of the programme. Together, the two selections continue the Cali’s HouseNation Radio format with another session centred on contemporary music and club-focused grooves.

This week’s guest on Cali’s HouseNation Radio is Andre, a California DJ representing the Inland Empire with more than sixteen years of experience behind the decks. His musical background began with Dubstep and Drum and Bass before gradually shifting towards a deeper and more groove-focused approach to music.

He now specialises in Deep and Chicago House, while his sets also incorporate Jackin, Disco-influenced rhythms, minimal textures and elements of UK Garage. His influences include DJ Sneak, DJ Steaw, Black Loops, Chris Stussy, Demuir and ANOTR, reflecting a style that draws from established traditions while remaining connected with contemporary club music.

He has performed across Southern California, including Riverside and Los Angeles, building experience through a range of club and underground environments. His selections are shaped around rhythm, groove and flow, with an emphasis on maintaining a strong connection between the music and the dancefloor.

That approach gives him a clear place within the broader House spectrum explored by Cali’s HouseNation Radio. His guest appearance brings a deeper, funkier perspective to the programme through a set rooted in classic House foundations, modern production and carefully controlled groove.

DJ Nocturne opens the first hour of Cali's HouseNation Radio Episode 289 with OMRI.'s Nothing Wrong, followed by DJ Deep's remix of D'Julz and deeper selections from LR and PTTY, Marsolo and Hidde van Wee. That opening sequence places the programme firmly within Deep House, using warm basslines, restrained percussion and gradually developing grooves before the rhythm begins to open up.

Theus Mago's remix of Trees of Tampa shifts the first hour towards House Music, with Clint and Demi Riquísimo, Retrouve, Tiger Stripes and Fickry extending that more direct club feel. Trybe later returns to the same house foundation with Psychedelic Shack, giving Nocturne's hour a clear progression from deeper opening material into increasingly energetic dancefloor selections.

Eachother begins the tougher section with U Want This, followed by BeYou, Angel Heredia with Javi Galan and DJ Dep as Tech House becomes more prominent. Jack Baron and Freenzy Music add the hour's sole Indie Tech selection with Toga, providing a darker electronic variation before Trybe closes Nocturne's set.

Andre starts the second hour with Martin Depp and Freestyle Man, re-establishing the deeper character before Demuir takes control of much of the programme's middle and late sections. The Ghetto Mind, Passive Agitation and the Cassy collaboration Stand Up (Your Life) bring the mix into a more direct housey groove, while Don't Truss That DJ introduces the first Funky House turn.

Demuir's collaborations with Andre Salmon and Greco then move the set into Tech tracks through Alrite and Power To The People, followed by a return to House with Pussy In A Wolf's Clothing and The Day The Moon Collapsed. Hedy pushes back towards Tech before I Don't Fk Wit U adds another funkier passage and Raw Beatz U Ain't Ready restores the straighter pulse.

Sergio Del Lago's Rumba in Demuir's remix delivers the final Tech selection before Stompin' At Salon Daome completes the guest's run of Demuir-focused material with another Funky cut. Mike Delgado and DJ Rasoul then close Episode 289 with two Deep selections, returning the programme to the warmer and more spacious style heard at the beginning.
