After Hours 741 features PatriZe and guest DJ Dex (AR)

After Hours 741 on Scientific Sound Asia features PatriZe at the helm with guest DJ Dex (AR) for another edition of the long-running Progressive House series. Scientific Sound Asia operates as an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency and promoter, publishing music news while connecting underground artists and listeners across the region and internationally.

PatriZe is a Belgian DJ and producer based in Thailand whose sound developed from early Trance and Techno before settling into the melodic and progressive end of House Music. His sets favour extended structures, gradual changes in energy and layered arrangements rather than sharp transitions or isolated peak-time moments.

That approach has made Progressive House the natural centre of his work as both a selector and producer. Longer blends and carefully paced sequencing allow individual tracks to develop while maintaining continuity across the wider set.

An important early milestone came in 2010 when PatriZe won the Night Museum DJ Competition in France. The result earned him an opening slot for Guy J and helped broaden his international profile during a formative stage of his career.

Further work alongside Pole Folder and Guy J contributed to the development of his technical approach and sense of musical pacing. Those experiences helped shape the patient and melodic style that later became central to both his DJ sets and radio programming.

In 2015, PatriZe co-founded AH Digital with Hypnotised as an independent outlet focused on underground Progressive House and melodic electronic music. The label's debut release, Inhabitants of Another Realm, entered the Beatport Top 20 and gave the imprint an early foothold within the international progressive scene.

AH Digital has since become closely connected with PatriZe's work as a producer, curator and radio host. The label provides a platform for established artists and emerging producers while maintaining a consistent emphasis on deeper, melodic and atmospheric club music.

Collaboration with Hypnotised has remained a regular part of his studio activity. Their remix of Michael A's Ignition appeared through AH Digital in early 2025 and demonstrated the measured tension and melodic detail associated with their work together.

The pair later reworked Nikoow's Weird Things for the same label, with the project continuing through late 2025 and into 2026. Those productions reflect a shared approach in which gradual movement and rhythmic control are given as much importance as the melodic elements around them.

PatriZe also remains active within Thailand's underground electronic music circuit. His appearances have included venues such as Beachspot, Thai Lounge and Terrace in Pattaya, keeping him connected with club audiences alongside his international broadcasting commitments.

Radio has become another important part of that activity because it gives him room to explore Progressive House across extended formats. As co-host of After Hours, PatriZe has helped develop the programme around considered track selection, long transitions and deeper underground music.

Guest DJ Dex (AR).

This week on After Hours, the guest is Dex (AR), an Argentine DJ and producer focused on deep, atmospheric and progressive electronic music. His sound blends hypnotic grooves, emotional melodies and powerful textures, with carefully controlled movement between underground depth and dancefloor momentum.

Dex (AR) has been developing a distinctive approach to Progressive House, favouring gradual progression and immersive arrangement over exaggerated peaks. His productions and DJ sets are shaped around tension, space and melodic detail, allowing the music to build naturally across longer passages.

That approach is reflected in his recent studio work, where a small but focused catalogue has started to establish his identity within the international progressive scene. Rather than spreading across numerous genres, his recorded output remains tightly centred on Progressive House and the deeper end of melodic club music.

One of his earliest documented releases is U&I, originally issued through No Place Like Home in November 2025. The track sits at 120 BPM and introduces many of the qualities that continue through his later work, including restrained pacing, melodic control and a strong sense of atmosphere.

U&I later appeared through Oscura Nova in April 2026, extending the life of the production within another label context. Its reappearance also underlined how naturally the track fits within the current Progressive House landscape, where subtle development and emotional detail often carry as much weight as outright club pressure.

His relationship with AH Digital became more prominent through Tension and Release. Both tracks arrived in April 2026 and positioned Dex (AR) directly within a label long associated with deeper, melodic and underground Progressive House.

His emergence from Argentina places him within a country that has become closely associated with Progressive House and melodic underground electronic music. Dex (AR) brings his own interpretation to that tradition, concentrating on atmosphere, movement and a darker, more restrained sense of emotional tension.

After Hours provides a fitting setting for that direction because the series is built around extended mixes and deeper progressive music. Dex (AR)'s guest session continues that tradition with a carefully crafted selection focused on hypnotic movement, atmosphere and the patient development that defines his current work.

PatriZe opens the first hour of After Hours 741 with Ignacio Corazza and FM's "Super Empaths", setting the episode firmly within Progressive House through measured percussion, melodic detail and a patient sense of development. Javier Stefano's remix of Lucho Bragagnolo and the FM and Maze 28 reform of North Atlantic's "Lights Out" keep that early movement flowing while adding more depth and tension to the sequence.

Juan Giarini's "Red Steel" gives the middle of PatriZe's hour a firmer rhythmic edge before Faus Rittner's remix of Mauro Scollo and Cipriani and Hans Gerd's take on Hiram Scoffield's "Balandra" return the emphasis to longer melodic transitions. Toffk's remix of Solitary, NAV's "Stels", DJ Meoz's "Iceberg" and "Morning Coffee" from Julietta Notes and Trifonov S complete the hour with a steady progression that remains deep without losing momentum.

Dex (AR) begins the second hour with his remix of Saya's untitled promo before Ramiro Alvarez and Ignacio Hernández move the set forward with "Two Generations" on UV Noir. Amháin's remix of "All Around Us" and Berni Turletti's "Onix" broaden the melodic character further, while Casnik and Redspace's remix of "Unifo" introduces a darker, more driving turn through the middle of the set.

Redspace and NIQLA's dub of "Calling All The Freaks" keeps that tougher mood in place before Max Wexem, Kasper Koman and Christian Smith push the rhythm with increasingly direct club energy. Claudio Cornejo's "Lumen", Dex's own untitled promo and Mayro's extended remix of Kamilo Sanclemente's "No Regrets" then close the episode with a polished final run that keeps the second hour firmly rooted in progressive movement.

Please set a reminder for the live house music radio show scheduled for Monday, August 17th, 2026, from 10:00 PM to midnight Indochina Time (ICT). If you are unable to listen live, the replay will be accessible on Friday from 10:00 AM to noon (ICT).
